I had it professionally installed and they set the gain, but it's barely turned up. I had an NVX VCW hooked up to it and within 15 minutes the dustcap was broken off. I'm wondering if I need a higher powered sub. I saw the 500 watt ez amp dyno test @ over 800 watts. Could the sub cause this?

I have to run this amp in the H1 setting, if I flip it down to LP it slams but is hot to touch after 15 minutes. The gain is only up about 15%. Running a single 12 rated @ 1000 watts rms @ 2ohms. Does anyone have any experience with this amp? It looses a lot of power when switched to h1 but...
