Clipping in music is fine (coming form a song that's clipped), it won't harm speakers. The problem is clipping from the amp. Some clipping is ok and will happen. Rule of thumb is if you are listening and it's loud and starts sounding like crap then it's clipping to much and you might start...

So what does the "gold" stand for? I thought it was only a warranty thing. The "prestige" I thought was the "0" as the starting number in the ES line that meant that they have higher excursion and copper for extended range at both the low end and high end of FR.

Doesn't really work like that. The amp actually just controls one speaker at a time even with two or 3 way passive.

That may be true when looking at individual products but when you take their entire body of work, it's hard not to see them as premier in the feild. We know they design a lot of (if not most or all) their own stuff and we also know they put their stuff through klipel.

Alpine was and still is. Can't say that for most companies still around.

There are many reasons to use rear speakers in a car. -louder: by adding the same speakers and same power you are getting around a 6db increase, very noticable -less weird phasing issues when you turn your head. Between the two I'd say go with the most astheticly pleasing model haha
