    tuning question...

Understood BUT why then by making the port shorter or longer does it change the frequency to which the box is tuned? just curious and not trying to pick a fight with a senior member but it "almost" made sense to me when i heard it the first time. i understand that the size of the box and port...

    box tuning

Depending on the sub going in there then check the specs and if it calls for a 3"x6" port then just cut the length in half and keep the diameter the same....run 2x3"x3" ports (this is just an example though) also i would put the ports on the outside edge of the box as far away from the sub as...

    Tunning port

DIDDO.....34 hz is a pretty good number but it all depends on the sub specs and how well and accurate the box / port are made?

    calculating port area

"edit: o i think i have figured it out...you have to put in your opening size and it will tell you how long the port needs to be" Very good young Jedi....you answered your own question i think. but xhck here also. http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htm...

    Need box plans, have $$

IMO the aero ports are ALOT easier to determine than slot ports...sure seems ike you have enough airspace but like you said, i don't think you'll be able to run L ports unless you invert 2 of the subs and run them isobaric? not very popular these days i know except in show BUT it's a thought..

    tuning question...

Is it true that every 1/2" in port length (shorter or longer) eitherway is the equivelant to 1hz increments of tuning?

    Atomic app15's in 94 accord

NOT trying to be a smarta$$ BUT if you want to save weight then maybe you shouldn't use a pair of 18's if you try tio save on weight by skimmimg the box on a pair of 18's....it will come back on you in the end. if you have those 2 monsters in the trunk already then what's another 25-30 lbs of...

Single 8" ported in Silvy EX Cab

Take the sub out and see what the inner walls of the actual port look like, very neat concept BUT if it's just a straight shot port coming out the side of the box with no dividers then i would "think" it would be VERY ineffecient....it does look pretty snazzy though. no ones going to see it...

    Need Box Plans

Jut some quick numbers but you're looking at close to 1.80cuft per sub, before any ports and not taking out speaker displacemenet. (divide the width x3) then i got this by using the ol' WxHxDx0.77(gross internal)x0.82(net internal)then divide by 1728.....works for DD!!

Need help deciding. Particle board or plywood?

partical board is the crap that's left over after cutting everything else and glued/pressed together so they have a cheap wood "by product" that they can still sell.... it is 100% worthless IMO, excet for office furniture!!!! any solid wood (like birch mentioned above) just stay away from...
