Use Rear RCAs or LOC for highs amp?

Thanks junior! That was my thought but I didn't want to screw anything up. I use to be an all bass guy, trying to wing this install without screwing anything up. I did get everything deadened though!

Use Rear RCAs or LOC for highs amp?

So after I locked out my factory radio I bought a cheap aftermarket radio on craigslist so I could install it before my trip . Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and there is only one RCA output that is for the sub/rear speakers . I'm using an amp to power ID 6.5s w crossovers. Should I...

2000 Suburban Radio Issues (Does not say LOC)

I spliced into rear speakers, but I ended up just getting an aftermarket radio. Good excuse for the wife anyways. It just cut power to the radio and after that you have to deal w the security BS and I don't have time to go to a dealer.

2000 Suburban Radio Issues (Does not say LOC)

Been a long time. Short story, I installed an LOC in factory suburban radio. The clock is the only thing that will work however, it does not say INOP or LOC. That is all I can find online is info if it says one or the other. I checked every dang fuse in the truck. Going on a 14 he trip in about...

    Frequency response, octave question

Going to post my question that I ask in the sticky, figure no one looks at it. I'm referring to the passive vs active sticky, post 1 has a pic of freq curve with each octave level. Re: Active vs. Passive: An attempt by me to explain Found this in a search and I'm going to pull this from the...

Active vs. Passive: An attempt by me to explain

Found this in a search and I'm going to pull this from the dead due to the picture in post #1 . So when raising the octave, are you making it to where the speakers initially respond at a higher frequency? Do you change this for the speaker specs in general or do you change it for what you hear...

How to install inverter to turn off with your car?

I have a 750 watt Generac Inverter. It will be used to charge cordless batteries and phones. I want the inverter to turn off with the car. Every time I have done this, I have simply used a connector to come off of one of the fuses (load) in the fuse box, however, this one is a little bigger...

    Amp Input Troubleshooting

I swapped the RCA's around and the same thing happened (that was my first thought), and it doesnt work with just one in. I am just curious to why it works at all with it like it is.. The RCA side of the amps have always been confusing to me as far as getting in depth.. Is it as simple as the...

    Amp Input Troubleshooting

Yes it is. The left side top and bottom are the inputs, the right side top and bottom are outputs. Going to try and make this as short as possible and more concise. It works when- RCA1 connected to Input L and RCA2 connected to Output L or RCA1 connected to Input L and RCA2 connected to...

    Amp Input Troubleshooting

Long time no see (old guys), hello (new guys). Have an issue, not going to make any excuses, bottom line, I dont have a way to further test it and this is all I could come up with with the time at hand. If I need to look more I can try, but even doing this was pretty difficult (finding someone...

Who will give out schematics for amplifiers?

I was looking on their for about an hour last night, some **** good information and it really breaks things down if people do not know what it means. Not to mention its not just on amps, that site takes you to all kinds of stuff. This is something I want to do for me personally and as a hobby...

Who will give out schematics for amplifiers?

You have to learn somewhere, and its hard to troubleshoot without schematics. If I can read one and repair 30 different cards in a radio, then I am pretty sure I can figure out an amp with two sides. Just because I may not know what a couple of parts are in their isn't going to scare me away...
