OK, IT'S FIXED.....I called Best Buy and they suggested to take the plate off and poke something in the reset "hole" and hold it for about 15-30 seconds. Doing so should reset the player to factory settings. IT WORKED! Of course, I did that last night, but didn't hold it long enough...ugh...

OK, I've thoroughly been through the manual online at Alpine. I've printed them and went out and sat in the car and did the instructions as they indicated. Both of the faceplates won't come out of blackout mode. I'm stumped....HELP PLEASE!

Yes, but it puts in MUTE mode....the word "blackout" is sandwiched between the SOURCE button and the MUTE button.

It has the words "blackout", but it's above the MUTE button...there must be another button (like a function key) to press with it, but I've tried all and can't figure it out....any further advice? and, thanks for the quick response, it's greaty appreciated.
