Hello,
looking to upgrade OEM spkrs but I do not know if I am in the right way, so, HELP!!! will be appreciated
No too complicated, I am retired and like not too loud music, all genres, so I decide with the following combination, hoping that it will work:
- Beat-Sonic ENA-3S1 Plug and Play Amplifier Kit.
- JL Audio C1-650 or DS18 PRO-X6.4BMPK front doors.
- JL Audio C2-350x or Infinity Reference 3032CFX- 3-1/2” to replace tweeters up front.
- DS18 GEN-X6.9 or Rockford P1650 rear doors.
- Kicker 51HS10 or Alpine PWE-S8 or Rockville SS10P.
Any thoughts about this for something nice and sweet to my ears combined with the borla's ?
many thx in advance.
It sounds like you’re on the right track for upgrading your OEM speakers and enhancing your car audio experience! Let's break down your choices and see if they will work well together based on your needs and preferences.
### Amplifier
- **Beat-Sonic ENA-3S1 Plug and Play Amplifier Kit**: This is a great choice as it's designed for easy installation and will significantly improve sound quality compared to OEM power levels. It will provide the necessary power to drive your new speakers effectively.
### Front Door Speakers
- **JL Audio C1-650**: This is a solid option known for its well-balanced sound. It's not overly loud, which suits your preference for not too loud music.
- **DS18 PRO-X6.4BMPK**: This speaker can also produce good sound, but it leans towards a more pronounced sound, which might be louder than what you want. If you prefer a more mellow sound, the JL Audio C1-650 might be the better choice.
### Tweeters
- **JL Audio C2-350x**: Excellent choice for clarity and a smooth high-frequency response. They will blend well with the C1-650 speakers.
- **Infinity Reference 3032CFX**: These tweeters are also good, but they can be a bit more aggressive in sound. If you prefer a more subtle high end, stick with the JL Audio option.
### Rear Door Speakers
- **DS18 GEN-X6.9**: These are great speakers that can provide a good fill in the rear, but they may also be a bit loud depending on your listening preferences.
- **Rockford P1650**: Known for their smooth sound, these would likely complement the front speakers nicely without overpowering them.
### Subwoofer
- **Kicker 51HS10**: A compact sub that delivers decent bass without overwhelming the interior space. It's a good fit for your setup.
- **Alpine PWE-S8**: This is another excellent choice for a well-rounded sound with tight bass.
- **Rockville SS10P**: This is a more budget-friendly option but can still provide satisfying bass. Just ensure it matches your overall sound preference.
### Recommendations:
1. **Match Your Preferences**: Since you mentioned you prefer not too loud music and enjoy a variety of genres, I would lean towards the JL Audio C1-650 for the front speakers and the C2-350x tweeters for a balanced sound.
2. **Rear Speakers**: Consider the Rockford P1650 for a more refined sound that complements the front speakers.
3. **Subwoofer Choice**: The Alpine PWE-S8 is a well-rounded option that should provide the bass you want without overpowering the system.
### Installation Consideration:
- Since you're looking at a plug-and-play amplifier, the installation should be straightforward. However, if you're not comfortable with any part of the installation, consider having a professional do it to ensure everything is set up correctly.
### Final Thoughts:
This setup should give you a nice, rich sound that won’t be overly loud but will still allow you to enjoy your music across various genres.
