I don't understand what you mean when you say there isn't a push already to build infrastructure....

Where are plants under construction? There's a lot of talk about a "push" but no action.

There will be a point where blackrock will monopolize the public energy sector and the ftc and government will fail us. Decade ago Gates said data will be next greatest resource or something like that.

Yeah we could easily fix that with a simple bill defining the user owns their data but we will never see a bill like that brought to a vote.

I would. I run a swamp cooler anyway, they can throttle my non-existent AC all they want.

I just don't understand why people would willingly give up control of their home like that tbh. If they care about conserving power during critical times, it's not hard to adjust it yourself. Our society is way to comfortable giving up control overall and its gonna be a huge problem in a few years.
