That is correct, in fact I never owned any 300zx. I was right though. You have no clue why they were special.

It was a dog. Sure, they did the suspension up and shed some weight by going analog (down a to a portly 3,150lbs), and threw in some non-factory seats.
But it was 205HP TURBOCHARGED. My Zs made more than than that with a naturally-aspirated straight 6, and weighed 400 pounds less.
There was nothing special about the Shiro other than the perceived value through marketing.
