Current events discussion

Here's an interesting story about how the BLM/DEI types lied to us to create "systemic racism" out of nothing and of course Ketanji Brown Jackson fell for this hook, line and sinker and presented this false info in the USSC. The second video is about how they turned an innocent doctor that was helping immigrant women into some sort of Doctor Mengele because that worked for "the narrative" of "Evil White Mans." The left needs to keep this in mind when these same people tell you Trump and Elon belong to the same political party as Doc Mengele. Keep this in mind when these same people tell you that we're surrounded by -ism, -phobes, -ists, etc. In particular, don't trust that Rachel Maddow guy - he's nuts.

People say racism is dead, and yet we have employers getting sued left and right, and outright admitting the racist things they did.

How can we stop believing those who claim to be affected, when people are ADMITTING to racist acts once they get caught?

**HELP OUT THE SITE**

The admin has asked us to try and be active outside this thread, in order to help the site. It's hard to just add "yeah, cool" to every thread out there to boost traffic, though.

I had an idea that would allow for us to push post volume, but at least get some value other than "yeah, cool":

I created a thread called Old School Cool, where members can post anything old school that they find and want to share. It'll drive up the post counts, but actually be posts of value.
If we all just find and post one or two things a day, it might help.

Dig out an old picture of your own, find one on the net, find old advertising. You name it. Just keep the thread active.
Whattya' think?

Here is my view on tariffs, my honest review

Will tariffs raise prices on goods? Yes. Retailers have to make a profit in order to pay staff and keep their lights on

Are tariffs necessary? In my opinion, YES. USA has been getting screwed in the Fair Trade agreements. Our goods that we export have extremely high tariffs. So we don't sell as much overseas as they sell here. If you want fair trade, come to the table with better tariff agreements.

Will tariffs work? So far yes. We already have countries coming to the table to agree on tariffs.

Is this a quick fix? No. Its gonna take time. President Trump is trying to negotiate by raising tariffs. All he is asking is for them to come to the table to make an agreement. A Fair Trade Agreement

In that case, I'd believe a court case.

I wouldn't believe MSNBC. The report regarding infant survival rates is still quoted despite being debunked and now we have proof that the data was manipulated on purpose.

Unless these employers "admitting the racist things they did" was them literally saying "We did this thing because it is racist and we are racist" then the "things they did" are obviously subjective.

That's like saying "I punched him in the face, but I didn't hit him hard so it doesn't count as a punch", or "The insurrectionists didn't succeed, so they weren't really trying to stop the electoral vote from happening".

If you do racists things, you are by default racist. That's kind of how racism works.

We can all probably start some sort of thread every couple of days, even if it's an A sub vs B sub that you have no intention of buying. 🤣🤣🤣

Agreed 100%. We need to create jobs other than DEI director.

I don't think racism is dead. I do think it's greatly exaggerated, especially "systemic racism."

I disagree. I think "they" like to conflate racial with racism. I don't know about the current mortgage lending landscape, but when I was in the industry, the black community was considered "under served." I'll tell you one thing about bankers, the only color they care about is green. Blacks were being "under served" because the were a greater credit risk not because a bunch of white bankers feel blacks are the inferior race.

Punching someone in the face is not a racist thing. It is a violent thing. For it to be racist it would have to have been done because the person is racist. Just being a black person and a white person involved does not make it racist.

How else these ambulance chasers like Al sharpton got their 6 figure speaking fees survive? I mean at one point he owed the IRS over $4M and you know if they came down on him he would scream a newborn piglet. Can’t forget when he went to the border claiming the patrol were whipping the illegal and got an reality check.
