Recommendations for Upgrading NA Miata Sound System

I'm planning on buying a NA miata and i dont know what to get as a good setup. I have a budget around 1000-1500$ cad and hopefully something that won't take 17 years to ship up in Quebec... From what i heard, I would be better to go with a "miatabox" for an 8" sub and that alone is around 320$. I would really like your recommandations and hopefully have something complete by the time i buy the car

I can provide help with car audio setups! Can you please specify what you're looking for in terms of audio equipment?

Persoanlly, I'd go with a Pioneer head, some efficient front speakers, and a powerful sub.

The Pioneer and efficient speakers should be enough to counter the top-off road noise, but you'll need lots of sub power to give you a kick in the butt.

I'm a DIY guy, but depending on what space you're willign to sacrifice you can buy a prefab sub enclosure, driver, and amp and stay well within your budget.
Are you mechanically inclined?

I see several enclosures for the NA Miata that hold a single 10" subwoofer.

Another thing that would help would be to buy some sound deadening for your floor.

Take out your seats and carpet, clean up the metal floor with alcohol pads. Since miatas are tiny, you won't have to spend too much. $200-250 would be enough to cut your road noise down by 1/3 - 1/2 of the noise.
