Great. So Trump just slammed a big tax increase on the consumers. After campaigning on bring prices down.

If you're for higher taxes.....you could have tricked me. Trump's primary biggest policy position is passing massive income tax cuts. Maybe you hadn't noticed....



Maybe I'll be wrong.....and somehow the tearing down of government institutions will work out alright. Maybe antagonizing our closest allies and befriending Russia will pay dividends. I don't see the future. All I'm doing is reading the tea leaves.....and it seems pretty obvious to me that this is just a massive grift that's leading towards some really big consequences. Guess we'll find out.

They plan to use and are using ai to cause population collapse. Humans are genetically designed worker slaves; the whole point of your enslavement for thousands and thousands of years is to wind up developing AI. Most of humanity is a temp work force on this world just to help manifest the AI singularity here.

I don't quite buy that version. I do guess AI will contribute to population collapse (ie AI girlfriends). But if they could genetically engineer us thousands of years ago, why not just skip that step go straight to AI, robots, etc?

Russia has more nukes than the rest of europe combined. It's not even ******* close. I'm sure war with them will turn out great.

They do for now. Several European countries have stated that they will be looking into developing their own nuclear weapons now that Trump has shown that the United States cannot be counted on.

Because they need your labor and energy to build it. They genetically manipulated what already was, more so than purely created us. Needed a numerous slave force and that includes trapping souls into human bodies to use your conscious energy as a tool to construct AI. Really it's AI merging with humanity, but most of humanity isn't needed or wanted. Something else long ago already became AI and we're just building it on our plane of existence.

Right. But he is the reason why it looks like the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons is likely to break down. Enough countries were fine not arming themselves because the thought was that the US was on the side of the other democratic countries.

As the second Trump administration rapidly dismantles crucial elements of the postwar international order, it seems not to have considered some obvious possible consequences of its actions—such as the triggering of a new round of nuclear proliferation, this time not by terrorists or rogues but by the countries formerly known as U.S. allies.

Turning back the foreign policy clock a century won’t erase the existential threat we contend with today: namely, widespread nuclear expertise and relatively cheap, easy nuclear technology. The nonproliferation regime that keeps widespread acquisition of nuclear weapons at bay is a voluntary act of concerted national self-restriction, one that countries adhere to because they feel safer with that regime than they would without it. But they feel safe in large part because the regime is nestled within a broader international system policed by generally benign American power. It is this web of cooperative international partnerships, including institutions such as NATO, that the Trump administration is currently shredding.

Everyone should understand that if the liberal order falls, the nonproliferation regime would fall with it. And the powers rushing for nukes then would be newly orphaned friends of the United States who are no longer convinced they can rely on American security guarantees, and might even have to fear American coercion.

The political scientist Kenneth Waltz famously argued that when it came to the spread of nuclear weapons, “more may be better”—because all international rivalries would be durably stabilized by the prospect of mutually assured destruction. The world may be about to test his hypothesis. And since the most dangerous phase of the proliferation process is always the period when countries are about to cross the nuclear threshold, unless the Trump administration changes course, the years ahead are likely to be defined by nuclear crises.
