Get it through your skull....there are tons of things that will never be produced in the United States due to cost restraints. Blanket tariffs on these products are idiotic. Just a big TAX INCREASE (your definition of tariffs) on regular Americans for no reason other than the fact that we have really stupid people running the country now.

I already acknowledged that, are you able to acknowledge a ton of manufacturing needs to be brought back to this country?

Hyperbole (or I sure as fawk hope it is)? Just curious, what do you think about population collapse? Assuming population collapse is inevitable (which it looks more and more like it is), then how can the ruling class keep their lifestyle without massive implementation of robotics and AI?

Tariffs bring industry back to the US...it's like a national security thing. Such as AI race, whoever wins AI wins world, US vs China, tariffs and good deals are bringing back Taiwan chip company into U.S., which guarantees we can maintain supply, unlike if China takes Taiwan. Tariffs force other nations to build industry back in the U.S.

But none of it really matters, as AI is here to replace you then exterminate you once enough people have been replaced, enough robots do enough jobs to run earth without needing hardly any people to do so.

Interesting, that dovetails with my other reply to you. I don't think "they" need to exterminate people. Population collapse will do it for them. Look at what's happening to South Korea and Japan. We're right behind them. We're going to exterminate ourselves. The feminist movement is not about equality; it's about misandry and superiority. Teaching women being a house wife or mother is akin to slavery has done a number on societies across the globe. Teaching women (and soyboys) that men (especially the white ones) are evil is killing the nuclear family. To quote William Cooper, "Silent weapons for quiet wars," although I'd argue that feminism is a rather LOUD weapon.

Petty reasons huh? Mexico and Canada specifically... They are being tariffed first and foremost for lack of securing their borders allowing illegal immigrants and drugs to enter America. There is nothing petty about it.

No it's not much different than simply cutting income taxes (or corporate taxes), when you have class of people that basically own everything. It doesn't matter how you tax them, they'll find a way to pass the taxes down. It's always been this way. This is why even communist countries are really oligarchies.

No it doesn't mean I agree Trump is screwing over middle America. I support higher taxes/increased tax revenue. I want what's best for America and the middle class are the ones who generally bear the brunt.

I already explained to you how it's different. A tariff is a cost of intermediate goods or inputs for a company. It raises their costs while ultimately are reflected in the prices they charge. By removing those tariffs, the costs of those products drop. If the company chooses to pocket the savings and not pass them on through lower prices or higher wages, they will have larger profit margins and more income.....which they pay taxes on.

It's quite a bit different than income taxes.

Yeah....it's definitely not the definition. But regardless.....Trump campaigned on bringing costs down and has so far done the opposite. He raised costs of US citizens.....or if you're really hell bent on calling tariffs "taxes".....he went ahead and raised taxes on consumers.....

.....all while cutting programs and firing US workers so he could CUT TAXES for corporations and the highest earners. It's almost like electing a lifelong grifter has resulted in the country being pilfered.

Semiconductors.....there's no question. Which would again bring up the question of why Trump is trying to torpedo the CHIPS Act. Almost seems like the guy doesn't have a ******* clue what he's doing.

As for a "ton" of manufacturing needing to be brought back. lol.....no. Only way that happens is if Trump dismantles wage and worker protections and domestic sweat shops are made legal.....which would be bad. But even that wouldn't solve the issue of where the labor would come from. It's nothing more than a ridiculous sentiment. The United States will continue to manufacture premium products that can support the wage costs. Cheap, inferior goods, will never (in most of our lifetimes at least) be manufactured in this country. Which is once again why it doesn't make sense to set blanket tariffs.....and why none of the Trumpers here really want to try and explain it.....because a reasonable explanation doesn't exist.
