Helping a friend pick a setup for the mids and highs in a 22’ Silverado crewcab
Plan to just do 300$ budget and only run a front 2 way setup
Here’s my thought process
A component set like CDT or pioneer z series
Passive crossover (stock headunit)
4 channel amp bridged Bc he gonna wanna be loud so I was thinking like 150-200w to each side
amp wise lookin for a solid budget amp I assume id wire down the speakers to 2ohm?
Still lookin so any input on speakers/amp or install is much appreciated
Ik there’s ppl that have ran every kind of cdt etc js threads are hard to find som times

Picking out the right sounding speaker is extremely hard to do for someone else. This is due to everyone having a different opinion on what sounds good. The easiest thing we can help with is the tweeters. Soft domes are smoothing while titanium domes can have harsher tiny sound to them. With a factory head unit, I have seen more people like the Titanium domes because the factory radios appear to lack the higher frequencies.

As for an amp, how much is he willing to spend? There are quite a few 4ch amps that have over 100w per channel at 4 ohms, so bridging two channels is not always necessary.

Most 4 channels can't be bridged with a 2ohm load.

Maybe a higher power 2 channel would work better

No ur right its close freind of mine tho so js forget its for somone else part lol we can js focus on the other stuff

So for amp budget is there a decent one for around 2-250
I was saying bridge it to make things easier with a passive crossover

I bought a taramps ts400x4 and bridged it to my CDT components. I had it running at 150x2, but it's capable of 200x2@4ohm according to the website. I think I saw it for $99 on Amazon recently.
I see what components you got? You like them

I had one of those and it was pretty good. Only reason i pulled it was to run a 6 channel with a bit more power

if you look around they can be found for $60-70.

Check Stinger's website; they seem to always run sales on their amps. You probably want to look at CDT's HD & ES lines.
Ok bet thanks

the es610x 6.7" set is within the budget and 200w rms
im looking at this audio control amp on sitngers website says it does bridged 2ch x 400w @4ohms

with the gains set properly i shouldnt run into probelms of overpowering the speakers right?
the headroom will help the amp stay cool no?

If you are just using a 4-channel amp to power two speakers, why not get a 2-channel amp?

Here are some suggestions:

oh wait i coudl get the 2ohm option from CDT and run that with that pionner since it do 240w
would that amp be a better route than a audio control?
