Should Dept of Education be shut down? Here's a little "progress report" from my kid's school; we're in what would be considered the best or second best school district in the Denver/Metro area.

In science they did a little experiment; a "collective test." The kids were given a multiple choice question shown on the board with 4 possible answers A-D. The kids had 4 answer cards A-D. The teacher shows the question and the kiddos hold up which card they think is the right answer and the class answer would be whatever the majority answer was. The class scored a D- on their "collective test." The teacher then berated the class. My son asked is this a problem just in this class? The teacher responded it's in all her classes. But they'll pass all these kids on to the next grade.

Last year (5th grade), he had at least 1/3rd of his class reading below grade level with a few reading at 2nd grade level and of course they just pass the kid on to the next grade. So basically those kids are doomed, they'll never catch up and they'll never be afforded the opportunity to catch up. I'm sure some of these kids are the same ones that "failed" the collective science test because these poor kids can't read. Obviously, this goes way beyond the teachers, the school district and the Dept of Education, but clearly the current system which pays the most for the worst results needs to be dismantled. Additionally, this shyt was going on at least since the Clinton administration and the can has just been kicked down the road and down the road and now the Dem's are up arms that TrumpCo dare try and fix it.

Wow, you REALLY got me on that one!
That completely erases the fact that Thx said I was wrong about gas going up 70 cents in North Carolina, yet he said he was paying $2 and it's now anywhere from $2.69 to $2.93.
AHHH stop lying Rob. That was an OUTRIGHT lie. I did not say I was paying $2. Your lies are getting habitual. You are wrong because of the FACTUAL PROOF I provided you from the same site you posted your little picture from. Here is the factual proof yet again for the whole forum to read.

I agree with the Admin here. We have switched Presidents again and there is no change in the bickering. It's still name calling and pointing fingers. Now Bobby has returned which is fine and all but he is hijacking threads with political points of view and that doesn't help those seeking information.

I am gonna go sound deaden my A-Pillar pods.

The immigration crisis started under Trump. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
It sure did. Look the sudden and massive surge in illegal immigration that happened when he was in office.
That's when it started.
Trump was POTUS 2017-2020. Right?

AP says City Comptroller Brad Lander reported $152/night.
Other sources are saying city officials claim $12.50 per night. We'll have to see if they open the books for public viewing.
Additionally, the money (according to Eric Adams) was received last week (~Feb 5th). So somebody decided to send money that Trump told not to send. Maybe they felt justified, but they probably should have cleared that with Trump first.
Not relevant. The money was appropriated by Congress in 2024. Trump doesn't get to change a Congressional approval that happened in 2024, even if the money hadn't been moved yet.
Impoundments are illegal per US COTUS, Article II Section 3.
The office of Mayor Eric Adams said on Monday it received two payments from the federal government related to migrant assistance last week totaling over $80.5 million. One payment was for $58.6 million and the other was for $21.9 million, under two tranches of the Shelter and Services Program, city spokesperson Liz Garcia said. The money covered reimbursements for services delivered between November 2023 and October 2024 and included reimbursement for hotels, security, food and other costs. About $19 million in reimbursement claims were for hotel costs, she said.

One year of one hotel room at $12.50 per night is $4,562. That's 4,164 rooms to hit $19 million. NYC houses about 55,000 migrants. Lets say only half of them are in hotels. That's six people per room, at $12.50 per night, per room.

And we just spent $20 million for Trump to miss half of the Superbowl.

Not sure about Bobby, but I recall having to remind a few other members not to shitpost

Yet now we have kids that can't read. They do these stupid reading round tables at school, where they're supposed to take turns reading and it ends up only 2-3 of the 5 kids actually do the reading because 1/2 of them can't read. But they're really good at playing mine craft.

Did you click the link. My figure is from the comptroller's report.

Congress didn't appropriate funds specifically for hotels for immigrants in NYC.

The number from the Comptroller strikes me as the most accurate number to use. That said, I don't really care how much they paid per night. Trump told FEMA not to make those payments and they did so anyway.

Like I've said before, I think the lack of volume of posts in other threads is due to lack of bickering in those threads. That said we can pump up volume in the those threads with "BS" such as confirming what other vets have said or wishing the OP good luck solving their issue or congrats fir solving the problem, etc. Basically, we can fluff up those threads. It doesn't add much true value, but maybe the search engines can't tell the difference.
