Current events discussion

@RobGMN I will ask again since you ignored my question the first time I asked it. You claim the offer wasn't even legal... I ask again, what makes the offer illegal?
The fact that they offered to pay them through September, but funding for federal agencies only goes to March 14th.
They can't promise or obligate themselves to any spending beyond March 14th that hasn't been approved by Congress.
Or, is Musk going to cover the bill from Sept 30th to March 14th?

Those pesky laws again!

What do you care? Doesn't come from your wallet does it. Not to mention it is just an offer. There is nothing being forced on anyone. So are you just bitching to ***** or do you have something legitimate to complain about? Do you have an actual violated statute? Please share that now.

Says the same thing.
Trump is the secretary of the head of HHS? Wow. Demotion!
You may want to sit down before you fall down. You are arguing the dumbest shit.
The Constitution is the "dumbest shit"? Why? because it prevents Trump from having the unlimited power you want him to have?
So you are claiming to be able to read minds now?
Nope. but I am damn good at reading words. And words are used to convey thoughts.
Welcome to a think called "the English language". It's a cool place to visit, but obviously not in your wheelhouse.
You are ranting over your own twisted thoughts. How drunk are you right now?
Haven't had a drink since Saturday before last. You think the COTUS is "twisted thoughts"?
must be that Communist desire you have.
Your post history shows it.
Sorry that you get upset when your own thoughts come back to haunt you.
Good thing they are not breaking laws then huh? I am sure they have no legal advisors either.
Ahh, except they are.
name the legal advisors on the team. Name the CPAs on the team. Verify they are not violating data privacy laws. Name they are not violating laws of the gov't budget process.
I'll wait.
I am telling you what I think you dip shit.
You quoted a request for OldSlapper to share what he thought, and answered it. Dummy.
Did you think you were him for a second? Got confused by the names?

Uhmmm yes, the money DOES come from my wallet.
Unlike you, I have a job and pay taxes. Those taxes fund the budget.

I guess the words confused you. Biden signed a Continuing Resolution on 21 December, 2024. It expires 14 March, 2025. Spending obligations 15 March 2025 and beyond cannot be legally made without the approval of Congress.

In other words: It's an ILLEGAL offer.
AGAINST THE LAW.
Even the PRESIDENT doesn't get to spend money without approval of Congress. He also doesn't get to freeze spending that is already approved.
Another pesky part of that "bullshit" Constitution, with rh addition of the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.

Are you getting it yet, or still thinking we are under Communist rule?

He's doing something now and the liberals are in tears. And rather than saying "Puck this grift, shut this down and lets find more of this and shut it down" the left justifies it by saying it survived Trump's first term, Melania supported an USAID event, Elon wasn't elected, etc, etc, etc. Just shows us where the priorities lie. Welcome back Bobby.

My grocery prices haven't moved and my gas is up. He's really tearing it up kid. He's fired a bunch of people and got rid of paper straws. That shows you where his priorities are.

Hmmmm. Threatening judges, now?
Time for the Impeachment proceedings to start?

No idea who you work for, but you think the POTUS can just say to a government agency "give my benefactor access to your systems" and they have to comply?
Did you forget you live in America (if you still do)?
That's not how the power of that office works.
LOL - clearly POTUS can and currently is doing just that. What that has to do with where I work is beyond me.
FFS, a judge already had to pause an attempt to fire workers, as it violates their contract and the offer isn't even legal.

So tell me: Who in Musk's crew is a CPA with forensic analysis training?
How many of these CPA's does he have? How many PEOPLE does he have?
How much analysis did they do in two weeks to be able to reach a conclusion of how many jobs they will cut, what funding to what programs will be cut, what funding cannot be legally cut without congressional approval?

Do you think Musk has some magical capability to audit dozens of billions of dollars in funding, grants, contracts, etc, in just a few days?
I'd wager good money that Trump has more CPAs handing the accounting for his "$6 billion" than Musk has on the DOGE team, auditing $71 billion.
Maybe you believe in magic. I don't.
The things you conservatives ask us to believe...
LOL - DOGE already "magically" audited dozens of billions in dollars. And they didn't need to a forensic analysis to do it. Of course since they are looking for crime and only looking for bold faced inefficiency anybody with half a brain can get the job done. It doesn't take a genius to figure out $32k for a transgender comic book for Guatemalans falls under the category of "waste and efficiency." 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Judges preventing people from agreeing to get paid to leave their job - the shyt the libs are doing to obstruct anything Trump does is fawking hilarious.

Just one guy's intrawebz opinion, but I don't see how it could possibly be illegal for the Judicial Branch to be able to stop the Executive Branch from auditing it's spending. That would be like a Judge telling me I can't audit my own finances.

Great question. How can it possibly be illegal to offer employees a buyout and for them to accept it? That would be like my offer to sell you an amp, you agree and then Rob steps in and says "no, no, you can't do that." Can't wait for the mental gymnastics on this one.

I can only imagine this decision will get overturned and eventually these employees will get bought out anyway, but the taxpayers will get screwed out of millions (billions) of dollars in legal fees and salaries.

LOL - they were already going to paid anyway. If that's the basis of the judge's decision that will get overturned. All the Dems can do at this point is delay and cost the American taxpayers billions of dollar. But hey what's a few billion dollars if it means opposing the Bad Orange Guy.
