I saw a video of one - maybe you linked it? Anyway, they claimed that we didn't have issues with the Venezuelan gangs in Aurora, CO. I don't know if they ever really reversed direction on that, but at least they make the claim anymore.

What is a practical use for this, when the lasers cannot be interrupted by physical objects or they will fail to work?
Maybe beaming a snippet of a message to the guy a mile away that you're about to kill with a sniper rifle, so you can tell him to hold still?

We can talk to someone on the other side of the planet by phone, or listen to music on our PC that is being played on a computer there. Hell, you can even be in the USA and listen to an SDR located in England, picking up shortwave radio from Romania.

What would this be used for?
