How many doctors hook a patient to a brain scanner before they call it a death? All of them? Not even close. I worked in a hospital. I have seen this happen a few times.

If they can keep the body alive with support, and were able to to do it before the brain is ischemic, you can be damn sure they will.
If they simply cannot keep the body alive to support the brain, why would they bother with an EEG?

They are being stripped of the ability to have it done. There is no doctor to do it. That's a physical change.
