So as many of you probably don’t know, I am an Assistant Jail Commander in my county.
My Major is retiring in October 2025.
The drama is that people are so scared of me taking over. They say I micro manage. I say I wouldn’t have to if you did your job.

That's just fear of change. If it wasn't "he micro-manages," it would be he's a poor leader, he doesn't have the experience, etc. BTW, I'm currently in a hospital and they had some nutcase shop lifter in the ED shouting about his rights, attorneys, the cops kidnapping him, etc. Have fun dealing with those nutcases.

Ask them to give you some examples. Often our perception is different than the employees. Good luck in your new position. I hope that we never have to cross paths. LOL
