Current events discussion

Prosecutors will choose not to prosecute all the time based on if they think it's a losing game. Along with them saying the "could be portrayed as", they also said that they did not have proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
That's where Trump stumbled when he made such an issue out of returning the docs, and they ended up having to go in and seize them.
That was a willful act.

As far as the "punching", I was actually speaking of people right on this forum. More than once, members here have requesting physical altercation when someone called them out on their BS. One guy actually claimed he was buying plane tickets to fly somewhere and beat up a guy after the guy called a bluff and gave his address.

And maybe it just seems this way, but it more often than not seems to be the "Republican" thing to lean to violence when things aren't going in their favor. Anyone recall the noose and gallows with chants of "hang Pence" on January 6th? Anyone recall Jan 6th? Anyone notice how the Republican response to not getting their way is to make a show of force with guns?
Maybe both parties want to, but only one makes a public show of it?

Are you not seeing all the riots out there? Those are from the left.
I'm just going to add a couple videos and ask that you stop watching the media and do some research with an open mine. How many peopled died due from right wing protests vs left wing protests?

As I said I can't stand Biden either. So go ahead and think I'm one of those who think that way but I don't. I'm not for the GOP or the Democrats both are one and the same anymore.

Btw I get this feeling with a location like Mars and nothing showing up on your profile where it shows post count you are 2nd account for someone here.

I also agree that all politicians are crooked. There's no way around that. The only people that wish to be the president are people who are either looking for power and/or looking for financial gain. The worst ones are the ones who are doing it for both reasons. That is why I believe the current dems are doing it for. The boarder crisis and billions of dollars being sent overseas is showing. By the way, another $90 billion was just sent to Ukraine.

I just wish people would stop being Party Voters and start voting for what is best for the country.

"Recruiters have confiscated passports, taken people from their jobs and, in at least one case, tried to send a mentally disabled person to military training, according to lawyers, activists and Ukrainian men who have been subject to coercive tactics. Videos of soldiers shoving people into cars and holding men against their will in recruiting centers are surfacing with increasing frequency on social media and in local news reports.

The harsh tactics are being aimed not just at draft dodgers but at men who would ordinarily be exempt from service — a sign of the steep challenges Ukraine’s military faces maintaining troop levels in a war with high casualties, and against a much larger enemy."

....

That war is ridiculous. I don't believe any amount of money or Ukrainian fighters are thrown in. Ukraine is going to lose. They need another Country to actually step in and help, but no other country wants to step in, for obvious reasons.

Youre introducing a strawman into the discussion.
Can you speak the the facts being discussed before spinning off on some other tangent?

You are adding videos you got from "the media" while simultaneously asking me to stop "watching the media".
Ironic. I shall respect your request and not watch the videos you posted from YouTube. Or should I watch them b/c they push your narrative? Mixed messages.
And sorry, I don't get my facts and info from "the media".

You ask a good question.
How many people DID die from right wing versus left wing protests and other such activities?

Dam you really continue to show how little you understand charts. Your evidence for the border crisis starting under Trump is an outlier year 2019, do you have anything more than that? Can you tell me what happened in 2020? Did the rate continue to increase or did it go back to the same rates as prior aka 2018? Convenient for you to ignore that. Compared to Biden's first year where rates tripled and continued to increase. So how does it prove your point, please share?
An "outlier year"? YES, that is what happens when there is something that changes as drastically as that.
You can't deny that the current border crisis started under Trump by simply passing 2019 off as an "outlier year" b/c the numbers nearly doubled from he year before.
That's like saying it's just coincidence the economy has been better under Democrats sine 1947.

In 2020 the numbers dropped due to the pandemic lockdowns. Yes, even illegal immigration fell because of it.
And whether the rate continued to increase or not has NOTHING to do with your previous claim that the current crisis didn't start during the Trump. Unless you believe in time travel, what happens today under Biden doesn't change what happened in the past under Trump.
Don't conflate data to try and make a narrative real.

You stated that only right wingers bring guns to protest. I offered a couple videos that proved your statement as being false. I asked you not to repeat just what you hear from news outlets without doing some research.

My next statement wasn't that people don't die at republican riots. It was actually a question on which riots bring the most deaths.

Basically your last post sounds like you just wanted to dodge the facts I presented.

Look brother, I get it!
You hate Trump because your core leaders hate him. You will say, do, and believe all that they tell you. They tell you that Biden is running this country better than Trump, so you believe it and will repeat all they tell you. I mentioned this earlier and I looked for an answer and didn't see one, so I'll ask it again.

Do you believe that America is better and stronger now than it was when Trump was in office, and why?

Did you notice that your example is not a declaration, but a suggestion? "I 'think' I had 5 diet Cokes today" is very clearly a statement that tells us he is not positive about the number.

If it were Trump, he would say something like "I had only ONE Coke today". Then when they showed him 5 empties, he would come up with some explanation like "MY day goes from 11AM to 10:59AM. I had one Coke at 10:45, then the other four between 11:15AM and 5PM. Therefore I only had ONE Coke today"
Kind of like arguing that the word "in" doesn't really mean "in".
I did actually. Look at your response though... A fictional example and look how you turned it. This is how you see Trump by default. You frame it so no matter what, you can call him a liar. Think about that.

No, I never stated such a thing. Please don't put words in my mouth.
My next statement wasn't that people don't die at republican riots. It was actually a question on which riots bring the most deaths.
And I asked you to give some stats. The fact you ask the question indicates you have some belief or opinion on the subject.
I didn't cite deaths, but rather shows of force and expressed desires of person-to-person violence.
Basically your last post sounds like you just wanted to dodge the facts I presented.
Dodge what facts that you presented?
You said NOT to view mass media, then you present YouTube videos and tell me to watch them. So, can you explain what you want me to see? What political party does the NFAC (made up mostly of ex-military) side with?
Look brother, I get it!

Wrong agin. I dislike (or hate as necessary) people based on my own personal evaluation of what they do and who they are. I disliked Trump as a person long before he was president. That disliked only grew stronger as he continued to do things that showed his true self.
I evaluate Biden and his administration on what is happening during that administration versus past ones.
We are in a better place than we were during Trump.
Do you think we are worse off than during Trump? If so, can you provide the metrics you evaluate by?

Do you believe that America is better and stronger now than it was when Trump was in office, and why?
Better? Yes.
Stronger? Good question. Which metric? Military? Consumer confidence? Economy in general? There are a lot of them.
I personally lean toward the economy being a top-tier indicator of how a country is doing. It seems when the economy is good, everything else falls into place. And our economy is better now than it was under Trump.
It's been discussed in this forum at length, with the number posted to prove it.
I did actually. Look at your response though... A fictional example and look how you turned it. This is how you see Trump by default. You frame it so no matter what, you can call him a liar. Think about that.
A fictional example that did even not illustrate what you tried to portray Biden as doing. The way you see Biden by default: A man who doesn't know how to tweet, and can't keep track of things. You frame it s no matter what, you can claim he is inept and ruining the country.
You are the epitome of the cast iron pot calling the cast iron kettle black.

But...I not only showed in my response that I knew what you were TRYING to say, my fictional example actually pointed out what I WANTED to say.

And here is my real-world example of Trump doing it: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...mments-about-injecting-disinfectants-n1191991
He makes completely uneducated statements during a presser, then walks it back by claiming he was (paraphrased) "just being sarcastic".
OH? So it makes a lot of sense to "just be sarcastic" during a press conference three months into what turned out to be the most deadly pandemic the world has seen since the 2009 Swine Flu outbreak that killed ~300,000 people? I think when he made the statement, COVID had already claimed ~150,000 people.

There is no "framing" here. it is actually what he did. And it is FAR from the only example.
So yes, I can consider that as how he handles things, when he does it multiple times over.

So I was correct you really don't have any evidence other than an outlier year typical TDS-suffering individual, it funny how you claim I am doing everything you are doing
conflate data to try and make a narrative real.
No one is passing off anything other than you coming up with an excuse for 2020 having a substantially lower number than 2019 so according to you numbers were magically lower because of covid and not because of the policies passed by Trump to limit border flow. Some policies were extending into 2021 and yet Biden still tripled 2020 numbers. All you have proven so far is you do not know how to read charts and you will try to make any excuse to justify any false claim in your head.

So your proof for why the border crisis is Trump's fault is a CBP statistics on Claims of Fear
instead of "CBP Enforcement Statistics” page that provides a comprehensive overview of all interactions that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has with individuals at the border.
View attachment 56559
As for the lying I stand by what I said there is definitely a double stand of what is considered a lie for Trump vs the Biden administration if you have too much TDS to see it oh well :geek:
How do encounters "prove" anybody is at fault for the mess at the border? Legal immigration has remained pretty steady in the US for the last ~10yrs.

I'm not portraying Biden doing anything. I am pointing out that you will find a way to talk down about Trump no matter what. No matter what. Look at this response... you HAD to do it here too. Think about that.

Why is it the southern border that is the problem with illegal immigration? What about the rest of the country? Why don't we hear about other ports of entry being flooded with migrants? The border of Canada... pretty big border... I don't hear about illegals there. New York? Philly? Boston? Baltimore? New Orleans? Miami?
