Alternate electors are nothing new but this idea was put forth by his lawyer which to be honest, was simply retarded lol (no chance of even working). You can put any alternate electors you want, if all the electors show up, the alternates would never be recognized and you actually have to be a real alternate which those idiots weren’t. This has happened actually in the past twice, both in Vermont and South Carolina and no one went to jail for it either. In the 7 states this happened, not all are prosecuting it. Why you may ask? Cause the best chance at any conviction you will get is via forgery. Anyone that actually signed documents and sent them in as genuine could be technically facing legal trouble. The issue with that is you would have to prove they were actually retarded enough to truly believe they had a chance at passing off that forgery as genuine. My opinion it was political theater for the base. We won’t know if it’s all factually criminal until it plays out in court.
The entire pence thing is another constitutional debated subject which trumps lawyer (John Eastman) came up with. They were very openly talking about this in the public, it’s kind of stupid to openly talk about something and tell everyone what you want to do and knowing it is illegal. Is this criminal? I have no idea to be honest, but will sure will find out when it all unfolds in a court of law.
