What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

POS Ford's! So done with Ford after the constant repairs. Bought this Explorer 6 maybe 7 years ago had just under 63K on it and an old lady had it who swore up and down it was well taken care of. Yeah okay that was a freaking lie! I only got 79,250 on it now and I'm done. Was going to buy my dream car for a summer toy but seriously considering just going out and buying a 2015 or newer Grand Cherokee with a Hemi in it. At least then I still have the power I want and plus they just look damn good with those black chrome wheels they come with!

This was my day today...

First it was being told the rockers behind the running boards on both sides are rotted out hence why the brackets busted. But thankfully those brackets are all welded back together. Now it is the front brake calipers plus the front brake hoses. I had already spent 54 just on bolts & hardware so all those are going back and ordered the calipers online as Detroit Axle finally had a pair of them for 80 bucks shipped and no core needed!

At least this was caught before I leave on vacation.

They're called Exploders for a reason.

If it wasn't for the repairs the vehicle is actually nice to ride in. Has a lot of room, those 4.0 V6's last a long time as long as you change oil every 3,000 miles and use Full Synthetic. But the design they used on a couple parts was beyond stupid. Like how you fill the transmission with fluid from the pan only and basically with it having to be put on a lift. No way to check transmission fluid with a dipstick like it should be or filling it that way. The way they designed the running boards on it. They way they are installed is just asking for water to destroy the rockers very easy. They changed the way they are installed and what kind they use on the 2006 and up and I can see why. Just a dumb design from the get go. And the parking brakes? Another dumb way, yeah everyone is going to use a brake shoe design but for the pads to just be glued on instead of riveted on like they should be means 99% of the time the pads fall off without you knowing it.

Just some bad design work across the board on them with those 2002-2005 models. It is easier to work on in some aspects but like how they did the front brake hoses and what not. Those are so easy to get to and replace without having to crawl into the engine area everything is right in front of you with the wheel off. Worked on some vehicles from every make out there that were just nightmares to change brake lines and fuel lines on.

At least it is just front brakes with everything easy to change. And thankfully calipers are only 80 bucks shipped for a pair of them from Detroit Axle shipped and no core needed so those are on their way. Figured out that by the time I replaced all the bolts I bought along with the banjo bolts it was 54 bucks. Just easier to replace the calipers that comes with all that ready to go. Normally I would have just done it the other way but with changing brake hoses I have to bleed the calipers anyways might as well just change them for the extra 26 bucks.

At least it is now like I said before I leave on vacation for a 800 mile one way trip and for 2 weeks.

Done with Fords, only Ford I had that was worth a damn that actually ran right, didn't rust, easy to work on, do mods on easily was my '94 T-Bird with the 4.6. It had a 4.6 from factory but I found a 4.6 from a later year Cobra that I put in along with ripping out the catalytic converters as in my old hometown there was no inspections and still isn't. Did shorty headers, put in exhaust bungs for the O2 sensors, under-drive pulleys, cold air intake, bigger throttle body, better upper & lower intakes, had the cylinder heads ported/polished along with those intakes to match, flowmaster exhaust mufflers and so on and so on. Thing was fast for how big and heavy that car was. Really should have kept that car.

IF I buy something else in the next year or two instead of still saving for my summer toy. I will go back to a Jeep Grand Cherokee or 4 door Wrangler. Nice thing is for both of them even with the 3.6 now they have superchargers and what not for them that really boost the power. And not all that expensive either for those upgrades.

Hemi are a good motor hopefully they address the cam lifter issue. The ford 3.5 ecoboost is good motor, friend romps his 2010 f150 it daily and still goin strong with only turbo coolant leak maintenance.

ICR which years though had that lifter issue on the hemi's. Plus around here finding one with a Hemi might be a real pita. Plus we all know used vehicle prices are insane right now so hoping they drop but I doubt it. Problem with the Ford ecoboost though is the Turbo on them. Known to go boom all the time. Everyone I know with those engines has had issues with the OEM turbo but once they upgraded the turbo to aftermarket they were fine especially in the Explorers. Just done with Fords at this point. Not a Chevy fan either. So either go back to Jeep or maybe find a Toyota Tundra Truck if I decide to get something new. Seen a few of those around and they look pretty decent but haven't done any research yet on them.

Recently witnessed my mail and other neighbors mail being stolen the other day...

Half the burger patty on the bun.

Some people that aren't educated enough to be on this forum, spreading around misinformation...

people at work that barely do their job, or not at all. It's the little things they don't do so you gotta do it to satisfy your job.
People that think a 1/2 din 14 band car equalizer (using a 10A fuse) puts out 1000 watts!

Waking up to missed calls from work on my day off but no voicemails or text messages... Guess it wasn't important so I'm going on with my day.... :poop:
You just know they were trying to get you to come in but the level of disrespect by not leaving a voicemail. Once is rude but calling more than once and not leaving a voicemail is crap any way you look at it. It's hard to guilt trip your with a voicemail, they wanted to guilt trip you person to person.
