What is?

Joe Rogan himself said he took it. he posted it on Instagram after he got sick with COVID.
Did you forget that fact? It's kind of important if you are going to claim he never said it.
Here's a video of him saying it. He hasn't denied the accuracy of the video or said that it was a deepfake, and has even defended his use of the drug:

Watch it and tell me if I am wrong about him using and promoting the use of it.

National Institutes of Health (.gov)
What is ivermectin drug of choice for?
It is effective against a wide range of parasites, including gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, mites, lice and hornflies.
Mayo Clinic: "Ivermectin. The drug ivermectin, used to treat or prevent parasites in animals and in humans, isn't a drug used to treat viruses."
FDA: Ivermectin tablets are approved by the FDA to treat people with intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis, two conditions caused by parasitic worms. In addition, some topical forms of ivermectin are approved to treat external parasites like head lice and for skin conditions such as rosacea.

IT ISN'T A DRUG USED TO TREAT VIRUSES.

So if a doctor prescribed it to combat a virus, the doctor is a hack. Much like your doc must be (the one you accuse of claiming there are no nerves in bones).

Now that I am home and can respond to this. Are you serious? He said he took Ivermectin, not "horse dewormer". The woman doing the commentary is the one who said that. Geee, I wonder if she is biased. Ivermectin is ALSO used for treating animals. You do know there is a difference in Humans and Animals right? Furthermore Ivermectin is used primarily in humans now, not animals.

Obviously it IS used to treat a virus as it was prescribed to treat a virus. It's ok Rob, we know how it works for you. If you don't agree with what doctors say then they are hacks. Because truth be told, YOU are the foremost expert in all things medical, political, car audio, firearms, scooters, fraud related, opinionated, factual, gender related, Google, to do with the Oxford English Dictionary and ************.

SoooOOOOORRRRRRRYYYYYyyyyyy.

Most antibiotics doctors prescribed people are also approved for animals...so I'm guessing when the doc prescribes something for an infection...we're just taking horse medicine by robbo's standard...hell I'd bet ol' spinning bob has taken horse medicines 🤔🤣

Again, you’re not bright enough for spin.
Here’s a tidbit about ivermectin: Originally introduced as a veterinary drug, it kills a wide range of internal and external parasites in commercial livestock and companion animals.

First and foremost, it was a (wait for it): VETERINARY DRUG
Additionally, it is for PARASITES, not viruses.

Hmmm. Why in the world would anyone scoff at a person taking it for COVID?
REAL hard to figure that one out, eh?

See man, this is what happens when the media is corrupt, and the news is brought to you by big pharma, and the gov is censoring real info by controlling social media companies. They lied and lied and lied about any treatments of covid besides the vaccines and some big pharma pills like Remdesivir and what not, so you have people like Rob parroting all these incorrect points. They all lied about it to control people’s minds into thinking their products 🤑 were the only ones that would work.

That's an interesting theory, except Merck (owner of Ivermectin) is also a Big Pharma company. Ivermectin just didn't work or Merck would have done trials and jumped on the money train with the rest of them.

So yes, Joe Rogan took Ivermectin and promoted the use of Ivermectin, which is by far best known as an anti-parasitic drug for animals, but can also be used as an anti-parasitic in humans. When prescribed for its intended use, it is a pretty darn uncommon prescription in the US. Because of that, it gets derided as "horse dewormer" when talking about the uneducated use of it for treating COVID.

I wouldn't say uneducated. I'd say dis/misinformed is a more accurate term.

Except it hasn't been proved in vivo.
Ivermectin is an FDA-approved broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent with demonstrated antiviral activity against a number of DNA and RNA viruses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Despite this promise, the antiviral activity of ivermectin has not been consistently proven in vivo.
Actually sounds like something Buck would be frightened of - nanotechnology & novel formulations...

Despite this promise, the antiviral activity of ivermectin has not been consistently proven in vivo. While ivermectin's activity against SARS-CoV-2 is currently under investigation in patients, insufficient emphasis has been placed on formulation challenges. Here, we discuss challenges surrounding the use of ivermectin in the context of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) and how novel formulations employing micro- and nanotechnologies may address these concerns.

You’ve been gone a while, so feel free to read up on the “horse dewormer” references.
And it’s not “also used”; it was created specifically as a veterinary drug.
Can’t change history.

Prescribing Ivermectin to treat a virus doesn’t mean Ivermectin is used to treat viruses, any more than prescribing Prevacid for gout means that Prevacid is used to treat gout.
Ivermectin has not been proved to treat viruses in vivo. A prescription for a use doesn’t change what a drug CAN or DOES do.

And yes, that reporter was obviously terribly biased to suggest the ivermectin being taken was horse dewormer. Everyone knows NOBODY would ever be crazy enough to use a horse dewormer for COVID. Such an outlandish idea:

I was talking about it only being called a horse dewormer. The media stating that in mass isn’t really the truth. The media response was to push everyone towards the vaccines, when there’s many other ways to boost one’s immune system. Ivermectin has showed anti-viral properties, so idk why in an emergency people couldn’t try it 🤷‍♂️

Ivermectin is approved for human use for parasites, so it’s not like people haven’t taken it before 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

‘Moderate-certainty evidence finds that large reductions in COVID-19 deaths are possible using ivermectin. Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.’ 🤑🤑🤑

Horse dewormer 😂🤡:

Ivermectin is a well-known medicine that is approved as an antiparasitic by the World Health Organization and the US Food and Drug Administration. It is widely used in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to treat worm infections.2,3 Also used for the treatment of scabies and lice, it is one of the World Health Organization’s Essential Medicines.4’. <-lol, would you just look at it? Would you just look at that, right there^^^

‘A review by the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance summarized findings from 27 studies on the effects of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 infection, concluding that ivermectin “demonstrates a strong signal of therapeutic efficacy” against COVID-19.’ <- it’s just horse dewormer though 🤣

Don’t you dare try an experimental medicine to treat yourself for covid!!! Even though it’s ESSENTIAL MEDICINE FOR SOME USES BY THE WHO. IT’S ONLY A SUPER WIDELY USED MEDICINE ALREADY, BUT F*CK YOU, THE ONLY EXPERIMENTAL MEDICINE YOU CAN TRY IS THE VACCINE!!!

I really don’t care about ivermectin that much personally; I’m just tired of the bullshit. It’s not just a horse dewormer; f*cking get back in your clown car and go home, whoever still says that.

You said it was media driven narrative with gov't & Big Pharma pulling the strings. Merck is Big Pharma.

I don't think FDA, et al want "the people" testing drugs on themselves. There were ivermectin overdoses for example. The risk is Joe Rogan says "Hey Ivermectin works!" and then Ivermectin flies of the shelves causing a shortage and it turns out that it doesn't work. And if Joe Rogan is trying this or that drug and "it works" why can everybody just try whatever and post that it works... IIRC some idiot was documenting online how ivermectin cured his cancer and he died. FDA, etc would prefer a more scientific approach with doctors involved and proper documentation, etc. I'm not saying anybody should prevent you from buying a horse dewormer and giving a shot, but I think you can see why FDA, CDC, etc would prefer a more "controlled" approach.

Funny how you get on thx for knowing more than a doctor...but here you are knowing more than rogan's doctor...all because CNN told you it's horse medicine 🤣🤣🤣

It WAS created for animal use. True you can't change the past but the future is wide open and the uses of Ivermectin have SHIFTED to use in humans primarily. What you are doing is clinging onto the past to argue your biased point. True, stupid people took the Ivermectin they could get a hold of quickly in a panic, a panic brought on by your political party with all their fear mongering.

What I don't get is how you will site articles stating it is a potentially dangerous and unproven COVID treatment when people were taking it at the same time the government was pushing a rushed, unproven, experimental vaccine and you claim the vaccine was proven effective. You need to check your shit at the door fella.

I haven't been gone, I just haven't been commenting. Some of us have real jobs. Not everyone does secretarial work, Rob.

They were basically giving away ivermectin in the 80s. We had 200 cows, so we had refrigerators with it in there all the time. It also works for humans and was used to eliminate river blindness. It is considered a treatment for malaria, river fever and other viruses in humans and was even donated by Merck because it’s cheap and effective. Ivermectin also kills mosquitoes. It’s kinda stupid to think that it’s just an “animal medicine“ when a human is a fvckjng animal. This has to be the stupidest fvcking discussion in history.
