Nearly one million Americans could find it harder to access federal food aid under a Republican proposal to expand the program’s work requirements, according to the Biden administration, which has promised to veto the plan if it passes Congress.

They get waived in economic emergencies, but otherwise, very old news.

I get that it's basic stuff...but it's upping the age to 56 from 50 that's being held up as an evil thing in the debt limit bill...

With retirement ages and life expectancy increasing, 6 years is not unreasonable. It’s interesting however, that a group considered to be anti-higher-minimum-wage is wanting to make a move to reduce welfare use.

What better way to reduce welfare use than to have people earning enough money to eat?

There are many ways to view this and yes he was an adult and was told the risks before the procedure. So my body my choice has its pro and cons…

IMHO, alot of the issue is the mental health experts in the US and around the world just ****. It seems far more logical to help these young boys and girls cope with the fact they're not happy with their bodies and/or that they aren't hetrosexual than to turn it into a medical problem. It's seems like they're just passing the buck to the docs who have to figure out how to "reconstruct" the missing parts, remove the extra parts, how to suppress your hormones and how much of the opposite gender hormones to put you on, if and when to block puberty, etc, etc, etc.

I have a feeling alot of these transgender folks are what we used to call effeminate or artists or bull dykes, etc. Would they have been happier if they were born the opposite *** - maybe, probably. OTOH are they really going to be happier if they convert their existing bodies into some sort of gender defying hybrid body where they are forever dependent on surgeons and hormone therapy?

I'm convinced. Since all athletic competition is based on biological advantages, I say we do away with all gender based divisions in sports. I guess Title ix has to be struck or rewritten; I suggest we just offer the athletic scholarships to girls in other categories - academic, etc. I feel so much more woke now.
