He responded (to my post) that the numbers could be fiddled with. Basically it's non-position. Ultimately it's sort of a non-conspiracy conspiracy theory. You can't prove that that red states are really red (ie how do we know there isn't a conspiracy (aka fiddling) afoot to make the red states appear redder than they are to the point they may even be blue states). Therefore since we don't know that red states are indeed red, we can't know that money flows from blue states to red states. As a matter of fact, how do we even know the blue states are actually blue. It could be completely the opposite and money is actually flowing from red states (even though they appear to be blue states) to blue states (even though they appear to be red states). However, since we know that Dems are more likely to receive SNAP benefits than Republicans, we can safely conclude that either the supposed Red States are actually far less red than we've been led to believe or even potentially purple/blue states. Not only that most of the "fake red" states in question were blue states prior to Reagan. Perhaps Mississippi, Alabama, et al have actually been blue states all along and Reagan never actually flipped them.
However, that begs the question: who is behind the effort to make certain blue/purple states appear to be red states? What are their motives? What do "they" have to gain? How are "they" making these "fake red" states appear so red? Since the most common barometer is how they vote, does this mean "they" are suppressing Dem votes? Perhaps they've somehow inflated the number of ballots being cast for Republicans (aka stealing elections). And if "they" are somehow either suppressing blue votes or inflating red votes, then why isn't there a discrepancy when compared to poll numbers? How are "they" manipulating polling #s to keep their conspiracy hidden.
Again, as you can see, anything can be explained or explained away with just the right conspiracy. All you have to do is begin by assuming whatever the facts are observing are actually make believe. Then you fill in the facts (doing your own "independent" research) and blame any incongruency with obserable/provable facts on unseen actors until you reach a quasi-plausible conclusion that fits within a pre-determined narrative.
