Yes, sponging off your family and taxpayers. Social Security was set up at a time before things Iike retirement accounts and investing for the future were known. It allowed for a contribution to be made that would become one’s retirement fund, and kept people off welfare. The problem now is that non-contributors draw from it, and people rely on it instead of trying to fund their retirement themselves. That’s the sponging part.

Hmmm, your beef was with ME when you assumed I would draw because I’m greedy. But MY beef should be with the government if it’s my opinion that someone shouldn’t draw. There you go again, using feelings and bias to apply different standards to similar situations as your narrative needs it.

1 and 2) You assume I have no money. I will tell you now. I have money. However, I am not lazy. I think anyone capable of working should do so. I don't care for those who leach off the government either. I own my house. My family lives in it as they are not as fortunate as I have been. I am able to work so I do. I could rent a place of my own but I choose not to and my childhood friend that I live with insisted I live with him after my brother passed away. In return, I pay some of their bills and enjoy their company. Understand this, I do not NEED to work. I have enough to sustain my existence. Not once have I said I often have no income.

3) If you have an issue with people drawing SS that don't deserve it then yes, your beef is not with them, me or the clown down the street. You need to direct that to the entity that allows them to take that assistance. That being the United States Government.

It is interesting how "blue" the states with the highest per capita burden are. Yet these states still support progressive tax rates and transfer of income to the redder states only to be ridiculed by said states.... how ironic.
