'"Governments collect information for many reasons. But, all too often, data collected by the state is misused and weaponized for other purposes," the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights group, wrote in a blog post this spring.'

'The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Monday sued Idaho-based data broker Kochava Inc for selling geolocation data from hundreds of millions of mobile devices that could be used to track consumers.'

It doesn't have to be. But it fits. The events have set a precedent. The court decision could also be used as a precedent.

A case doesn't have to have a decision that interprets law differently to be considered as a precedent in other cases decisions.
legal precedent is said to be:
  • applied (if precedent is binding) / adopted (if precedent is persuasive), if the principles underpinning the previous decision are accordingly used to evaluate the issues of the subsequent case;
  • distinguished, if the principles underpinning the previous decision are found specific to, or premised upon, certain factual scenarios, and not applied to the subsequent case because of the absence or material difference in the latter's facts;
  • modified, if the same court on determination of the same case on order from a higher court modified one or more parts of the previous decision; or
  • overruled, if the same or higher courts on appeal or determination of subsequent cases found the principles underpinning the previous decision erroneous in law or overtaken by new legislation or developments.

So being able to defend yourself while being attacked is a new precedent. In that case, I'm all for this new precedent.

Why should he show a mid-year change. The Milwaukee police budget was already cut at the beginning of the year.
I am asking for proof of what was claimed. Thx said Kenosha cut funding in July, Spokey backed it up.

I am interested in seeing a city that chopped funding from their existing budgets immediately after Floyd, and how they got away with it.
I’m not a fan of people who claim stuff they can’t prove, especially if they are going it to support their narrative.

Spokey said the defund the police movement started well before Kenosha...wonder who claimed it started after 🤔

They certainly made it seem ok to “stand your ground” even though the law says otherwise. That could affect future cases, defenses, decisions.

It can also affect how they treat people who are walking around with guns while a curfew is in place.

I’m sure you’d agree this case is a pretty big deal(?)

Nope...the video ehows him unsuccessfully trying to retreat...that's not standing your ground...

Rittenhouse not only wasn't the only violating the curfew (pretty much nobody paid any mind to it)...he also wasn't alone having a firearm...

So Thxone was lying when he said he consulted you on his whole lie about the mid-year budget change?
Where did I post about the budget? I just called out your made up bullshit claim it started after Kenosha...what thx and I did or did not discuss...is really no business of yours 😘
