How so??? Trucks can refueled while unloading. Drivers are limited in how many hours they can drive and of course stop at truck stops for meals, showers, bathroom breaks, etc.
He is trying to use little details to make the idea of an EV not viable. But even the little details don’t prove his thesis.

I know, I've spent sometime looking into EV. Ultimately, rare earth and charging infrastructure will keep EV adoption from growing too fast. I do have to admit I like the attempt to make EV semis appear implausible knowing that trucking companies and the EV makers have teams of economist and bean counters that have already figured that one out. Amazon is adopting EV delivery because they want their drivers sitting at charging stations for hours on end instead of delivering - fits right into their business model.

If so, then they should be able to refuse taxes for the military, or road repair, or fire departments. Schools. EMT. Post office. Business subsidies. Farm subsidies. Churches.
A ‘la carte taxation.

That would be consistent, yes?
I'm on board with getting rid of subsidies...

I at least appreciate his efforts to argue. Many guys here will just give up and call you a diick likker after the first fact you toss at them.

Yes, it is factored in.

Truckers are only allowed to drive so many hours per day. And the average semi only does about 45,000 miles a year. Thats173 miles a day, assuming 5-day workweek.

The Tesla will do 300-500 miles per charge, so charging can happen while the truck would not be in use anyway.
“You are allowed 14 consecutive hours in which to drive up to 11 hours after being off duty for 10 or more consecutive hours.”
The average semi holds between 200-300 gallons...at 5mpg...that's between 1000-1500 miles topped off on average...semi use high flow system to refuel at up to 60 gal per minute...

If there's widespread installation of Tesla mega chargers it takes 30min to "fuel" up for up to 500 miles...

No matter how you slice it that's more time off the road refueling...

Given that truck stops only have so much real estate to work with that's fewer trucks per day refueled..

And before you say they can recharge on their 10...there's already a big shortage of places for drivers to just park for that 10hr break...let alone places the mega charger could be installed...

And loading dock idea could work in some instances...most major off loading sites are designed to move as much freight as possible with little room to spare for much else...so even with a redesign...that'd lower the amount of freight offloaded per day...

All of which raises shipping costs per mile...

But hey those are just little details...

No. I think Russia is in the wrong for doing it.
If you support a ‘la carte taxation, why do you think abortion should be banned for everyone ?
Isn’t a ‘la carte about making your own choice?

I didn’t see that you mentioned ‘a la carte’. I overlooked it. I thought you were being sarcastic. I’m not familiar with that specific type of taxation and what all it includes. What I mean more specifically is that I think the income tax is evil. The way we’re taxed gives a lot of money to people who don’t deserve or need it and aren’t using it for the taxpayers interest, and you can’t avoid supporting those taxes with the income tax. Taxes, in general, it’s forceful. Forced to pay for things that don’t represent you, when the majority of people don’t actually seem to have any say in what their taxes actually go towards, not even when they vote, most of the time.

‘Even if abortion were in the Constitution – and it’s not – that still does not justify tax-free status or a right to ignore laws and regulations designed for public safety. A right to bear arms is in the Second Amendment but weapons are not sold tax-free or with taxpayer subsidies.’

But don't "they" always seem to figure it out? Charging stations at loading docks/warehouses seems likely. Amazon is doing it somehow. UPS, FedEx, etc are adding electric to their fleets. I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it couldn't be done. Have some faith in the private sector's ability to adapt and overcome.

Truckers will be replaced with AI autonomous drivers, anyways. Who needs all these unruly humans to deliver products when you can just use an EV driven by AI?

Package delivery is a much smaller scale the over then road freight...plus your talking about single entities revamping their own logistics...whole different ballgame when a single trucking business run freight for several different companies to several different companies...

I'm not saying it won't ever be feasible...we're just far off from it just theory at this point...

You will never find one in a post in which I call someone "stupid", "idiot", "moron", etc.
Read my sig line.

so when you insult someone on the internets is very important for you that you meticulously spell and punctuate everything ever so correctly in fear of someone doing what you do?

pretty fukkin pathetic my dude
