Oh thank god you and I are on differing sides here. You agreeing with me could singlehandedly make me re-evaluate my entire stance on politics.
Oh please are you really gonna act like we both don't know who you really are. Dude you seriously need to get right. This could be a cool place. Why would anyone want to be with the way it is?

Oh trust me, I am fine. My argument is not in the use of the word "sure." The word "sure" was and is irrelevant in my post. You and you alone made it the focus. The focus should have been the context in which the statement was made. This context is what you missed. It's ok. Thank you yet again for the learning opportunities and the corrections you give which help all of us be better people. You are truly a great person. I am sure I will sleep better tonight with all the educational guidance you have given... yet again.
So now you want us to figure out the context in your head that does not match the words you type, but you have a hissy fit when we “make up” a context by taking your typed words literally.

Seriously, you are all over the map with communication.
Pick one: You want your words taken literally OR you want us to interpret your words.
You can’t have both, and you can’t complain when you pick one and we do it.

Which is it? Literal, or interpreted?

And stop with the attempt at condescension. It’s childish and makes you seem even less the adult who can communicate with adults, and more like a teen in his family’s basement.

You are the one with the comprehension problem. You figure it out. However, you need to get it out of your head that everyone needs to post their views, opinions, facts, quotes or any other post just so YOU can understand it, justify it, argue it or correct it. The only condescending person here is you Rob. We all had parents and teachers growing up and none of us need you to act like you are either. If you can't understand the context of a post then don't comment on it with your attempts to correct us, put us down or speak on it from your high horse. The only thing you are achieving is literally coming off as a know it all assshole with a singular view.

I have given you 3 examples of context. All of which you have ignored and continued to argue your dumb points about "sure". Like I said before. I don't know how you are able to have conversations with real humans. I am sure it is more like you just talking to them and them nodding. As for me not attempting to condescend to you. For me to do that I would have to THINK I am better than you.

If you're not posting something with the intent that it be understood, then why post it at all? Just mumble it to yourself and think it in your head, and move on.
The whole point of posting here is to communicate with a broader audience than your mind or your dog.

Your examples of "context" are exactly what I'm talking about. You demand that I not "interpret" your words and get the wrong meaning, yet you don't want your words taken literally either. It's either literal, or interpretation. If you want your "context" (a word that you have used incorrectly in the past) to tell the story, then choose words that create the context.

My conversations with people are great because I actually listen to and remember what they say, and am able to bring that information back in the future. In listening (as opposed to just "hearing"), I learn new things about them, and about the topic they are speaking of. Sometimes, I'll later go and explore that topic further if I find it interesting. This isn't something you don't already know, but knowledge is power.

When it comes to my "singular view", my singular view in a debate is based on the facts. You can't debate with opinion or feelings or beliefs; you have to do it with facts. Tell me you like Marlboro more than Camels. How could I ever debate that?
Tell me a BOSS amplifier is better than a Rockford and facts can be used. Tell me you like the SOUND of one over the other, and there is no debating it.

Using facts in a debate is not being on a "high horse" or placing myself in an "ivory tower" (the quotes mean I am not being literal), it's how an argument or debate occurs. Facts have no feelings. But, I will say this: If you come to a debate and your best move is to try and insult me instead of arguing, then I will climb to the top of the nearest ivory tower and I will pummel you ("you" meaning anyone who does it; not pointing the virtual finger at you alone).

Anyone who thinks they should get treated kindly after attempting to use insults to win an argument is going to be very disappointed in talking to me. If someone tries to insult me, I DGAF if they feel I am being "holier than though", "pompous", "on a high horse", or any of the other pejoratives you can think of. The fact that they have tried to insult me immediately means they have no respect for me, and the game is on.

Im agreeing that Trump literally and specifically used the word "peacefully" and that you are dodging that point.
Yet Thxone is arguing that when he actually types the words "I am sure" it means something totally different, and that his words should be interpreted and not taken literally.

Did trump use his snide smile when he said "peacefully" (kind of like when he made fun of the disabled reporter, and than backpedaled on it)? Did he raise an eyebrow? Was there a flyer handed out that had a list of code words and "peacefully" meant "NOT peacefully"? Was it a case of "I said peacefully, but you all KNOW what I mean"?

He said "WE" will march tot he Capitol, but he was nowhere to be found. If "WE" didn't actually men "WE", how are we to believe that "peacefully" actually meant "peacefully".

The thing about the artful dodge is that it has to be artful. Like a game of chess, apologetics requires you to see all avenues of the argument and be able to counter them effectively. Use the excuse that his words are to be taken literally, and you're kind of stuck when other words were very obviously not meant to be taken literally.

That's your problem. Your goal is to debate. You think everyone speaking is debating. The fact that you think I am insulting you first is laughable. Make no mistake, if I insult you, you have earned it by your actions.

Thank you professor for again proving my points.

Furthermore, until proven otherwise, I will assume that the majority of these 20,000+ "lies" are a list made mostly up by the author to sell whatever is being sold. Good job proving your facts RobGMN. Good job. You get another participation trophy.

Yup and you have proven that you have NO DAMN CLUE when to do so.

RobGMN's riddle for the day...

I literally mean you don't have to take everything literally.

🖕
Did your handler write that one for you, 'cuz we know you never could have drafted it.
Especially since you said it was a "riddle" and then you made a statement.

I guess I should interpret "riddle" to mean something else, so that you can cry like a little bltch that I am interpreting your words. You must like watching paint dry, considering the number of times you've painted yourself into a corner with your words.

Is it safe to assume since you don't like debate in Thunderdome, you just want to be high-fived for all of your literally interpreted meandering posts?

I'm sorry... did I strike a nerve? You seem upset and you are attempting to insult me. Good to know I can be sarcastic to you all day and it will continue to fly right past you like your wife in the night.

You have been trying to hit a nerve for a while now, but failing each time.

Wife? You need to work on your insult game. That's like me telling you your Corvette is slow.
Not much of an insult when you drive a 20 y.o. Ford SUV.
Hit me where it hurts. Tell me I'm a lousy shot. Tell me my coffee tastes bad. Tell me my stereo sucks. Disprove things I say instead of responding with "fvck you" and calling me names.
Go for something that can actually be real.
Up your game a little.
