I put "mass shootings" in quotes because the definition changes based on the desired outcome for the statistics. If you want a higher number, you use shootings of 2 or 3 or more. But that includes gang-related shootings and crime-related shootings which greatly changes the demographic. So if you want to factor in demographics you change the definition until you get the desired outcome. Behind every statistic is a filter and that filter is used to adjust the outcome for your desired result. Feelings don't care about your facts.

Luckily I live in an area where common sense is still alive. It’s amazing how many people around me conceal carry and how many people own rifles, shotguns, pistols, etc and we don’t have issues.

When the threat of self defense is real, criminals are much more reserved.

Didn't Texas just have a mass shooting at a Wal-Mart not too long ago. I live about 10 minutes away from the largest mass shooting in American History. And, all of his guns were bought legally. He killed 60 people and injured hundreds more. My friends son was a Cop working security there and he was shot. Another crazy white guy with no motive.

Yes, in an area heavily controlled by Democrats. There was also a shooting in Texas where a concealed carry citizen killed the shooter. Citizens carrying weapons stop mass shootings but those don’t get publicized in the media.

What exactly do you want with gun control? I’ve known people that are “regular” people who abide by the law and have no track record and then something tragic happens and they go south and end up in jail or worse. If someone wants to kill someone, they will do it regardless of the Avenue they take to get the weapon.

The 23 innocent people killed in El Paso is a horrible (and accurate) number. The 23 innocent people injured is also horrible (and also accurate). All shooters have a hateful motive, an evil motive, and this one blamed both political parties for being kinds to immigrants.

When a legally armed citizen stops what would be a much more horrific event, that is inconvenient to the narrative and blatantly ignored by the media. obviously.

The 23 innocent people killed in El Paso is a horrible (and accurate) number. The 23 innocent people injured is also horrible (and also accurate). All shooters have a hateful motive, an evil motive, and this one blamed both political parties for being kinds to immigrants.

So, he hated Mexicans. There has to be better mental health background checks or something. Maybe we just have to accept mass shootings as part of American life. Just a part of everyday life.

We've seen this in the UK where knives and caustic chemicals became the primary weapon of choice by criminals. We saw the UK consider banning knives. Maybe the brits will have to start allowing pudding without eating meat since the knives were taken away.

Guess the number of active slaves in Africa, right now. (hint: on par with abortion numbers in the US). Guess the number of people killed, daily, with guns, worldwide. We allow over 600,000 beating hearts to be stopped in the US because they are inconvenient (tens of millions worldwide). Around 2,000 innocent people are killed by guns, annually, in the US.

I'm fine with a federal FOID card as long as law abiding people are free to buy what they want to defend themselves against the threat of criminals.
I'm also fine with state police wanting to do a background check that last weeks. No one needs a gun or ammo today, tomorrow, or this week.

We reduce violence by treating kids properly - by raising kids properly. By reducing single mothers, by getting kids off the streets, by telling them they are not victims based on what they cannot control, and by giving them hope. We reduce crime by giving kids another option. We reduce crime by not encouraging it, and it is certainly encouraged by current socially acceptable ideologies.

Agreed on that. I’m trying to teach my kids to be loving to anyone and to be open minded but also the ways of life. It’s definitely a fine line but so far I think I’m doing a good job.

They need to poll Americans on whether they should pass specific new gun laws.
