My system will be in a 1997 2 dr Tahoe white with grey interior 6" lift with 22x12 on 35x15.50r22 tires.
My end goal is to build a daily driver that sounds better than great and can be turned up for long periods of time when needed with out worrying and coils, amps or power(batteries). This is not an over night build, but will be completed in stages.
Current head unit is a Pioneer 80 prs JBL GTO 6.5 component system 2 sets on a 4 channel Synergy 8.4D amp. Along with two 12" Kicker Comp R's on a Synergy WFO 2.1D @ 4 ohms
The next stage will be what I need help with the most. I think I want to run a nice 3- way up from either Morel or Legacia. With one set of components(2 way) in the rear. Not looking for a full SQ build here at all just a mean, CLEAN street sound.
And subs are my biggest need. I'm interested in the 2- SSA Icon 15" and the 2- DD 3515. I'm not a fan of extra large enclosures, but I'm willing to go maybe 7 cu.ft. something that will be below the rear windows and have space for the port to breathe in a subs up, port back configuration. My max limit on sub wattage is 2500 rms per sub since I only want this for street and it would not see a meter except for giggles. Output and great filling sound is at the top of my check list and not SPL.
I want to build something more sound quality loud than anything else. I don't like the sound of all subs the older Kicker Comp VR with the gold cone and the Rockford Power line from back in the day are my favorites. I did recently hear an American Bass set up that reminded my of how the Rockford's use to amaze me, but he didn't know what subs he had. Subs I can not stand the sound of are the JL w7 or the Eclipse one with the aluminum cone. To me they both sound floppy or muddy or like something deep and powerful is missing in the center. Almost like it's a big hole in the middle of the woofer. IDK just my opinion on them. Sorry if either one of these is a favorite of someone here.
Electrical with be handled by a lithium battery bank with under hood battery delete and I'm also looking into alternators right now there are so many more available than just a Mechman these days.
So suggestions on the amp hours and alternator amps would be great advice as well. Thanks in advance everyone.
