Hi all im hoping somebody can shed some light on something for me, im currently going to run 6x9s from amplifier, havent decided what amp yet but im looking at my head unit and there's 3 pre outputs 1, which is subwoofer which im fine with the other 2 are rear output (std)/middle range output (nw) the other is front output (std)high range output (nw) which one would I plug into for 3 way 6x9 speakers please? Any help would be much appreciate. Thanks

i would highly recommend using a HPF no lower than 60hz 24db LR (higher if they are crap 69ers) if possible....especially if your putting an amp on em.....80hz 2nd order would work also

Would I need to run rca cable to the stereo if using the hpf cable then? Be running a pair of vibe speakers at 475 watt each. Sorry if I should a bit stupid never wired speakers up to an amp before only subs

The high pass filter you'll use isn't a cable, it's a setting on the amplifier and/or head unit. The purpose is to limit the low tones they produce so that you don't have full range speakers producing subwoofer tones. They're not very good at that unless you've got them in a purpose-built enclosure and even then they're not the best at low tones.

I'm reluctant to provide advice until I know your amplifier and speakers' model numbers as well as where you'll be mounting each of the speakers.

The only general advice I can really give you without that is that you'll run the two rear outputs from your head unit to the amplifier's RCA inputs, then depending on which inputs you used you'll hook up the speakers to the amp outputs. As 1aespinoza said, the passive crossovers are built in, so treat them as one speaker of broad range.

I'm on the right path as you I know where your coming from. Havent bought the amplifier yet im currently looking for the right one to run the vibe speakers. They are the vibe slick 69.3v7, so advice on amplifier would be very appreciated to

Unfortunately I'm not very good at selecting brands available in the UK. I believe Pioneer is global but I'm not sure what other American companies are there as well. Hertz and Focal are european so I imagine you have them too. All 3 of those brands can be trusted as to what their ratings are. Hertz/Focal are superior brands to Pioneer but none are bad. Which ones were you deciding between so far?

Pionner is usually my go to brand. Been looking at the Pioneer GM-D8704 Class-D 1200w 4-Channel bridgeable amplifier but not sure if it would be sufficient enough or over power the speakers?

You'll probably want something more powerful. The speakers are 4 ohms a piece, want 160w RMS power, and the pioneer only puts out 100W rms at 4 ohms. 4 of these vibe speakers? You'll want more power. It could power 2 of them, but that kinda defeats the purpose of a 4 channel amp when 2 channel variants are generally more powerful for that.

Thanks for the advice mate. Really appreciate it and will take everything you have advised on board. Really appreciate it thanks again

I would ask at DIYMA a lot of people use DSP's there usually someone can give a good review on DSP's that some here don't use.
