Not exactly a vs thread, as i know these should both be great sounding drivers. Just wanted a little insight from others that have used them, heard them, or just love them. I will be putting 2x 12s in a foxbox(sorry) in a new generation ram 1500. Ported 3.5 cubes at 33hz, the under seat area of these new trucks is decent but the way the back wall meets the floor would b a nightmare to try and recreate myself.
Running on a Rockford T1500-1BDCP. Obviously im looking for good sound quality and output. Because i live in Canada i have to order the ssa from ssa which has high shipping costs, boarder fees, custom fees, trump fees,etc.. I can get the brahmas on this side of the line, which makes the price about equal.. i know the brahmas on ssa's site are 250-300 usd more than the icons.. Just looking for some help as i have never heard ether in person.
Cheers

From the Youtube videos I have seen, I bet either of those will rattle your fillings loose. There is an audio engineer that custom built a box with an 8" Pyramid sub in it and demonstrated in public. Most responded 1 12" or 2 10" subs. As long as that box is within specs, that combination should be quite impressive.

The Brahma was one of the best sounding subs I've ever owned. I still regret selling that thing. It's extremely musical, and will get loud if you want it to. I had it sealed as well as ported in my past set-ups. That XBL2 motor definitely keeps everything nice and tidy. I'd say go for the Brahma. You won't be disappointed. Just make sure they're in good working order.

There the brand new brahma 2.5's that i was talking about. Adire has updated a bit and brought them back. and i got them, couldn't pass them up as the sale was ending. Not my pics. Found online.

Jeez, I've apparently been out of the loop for too long. I thought Adire Audio went out of business over a decade ago. I had the Brahma MK1 and MK2 back in the early 2000's. Glad to see them back in business.

I got them in late yesterday. First impression is these subs are absolutely amazing. Blew the hertz spl shows out of the water with no break in period. I will update again in a couple weeks when the subs loosen up a bit. But out of the box, these subs sound great and have huge output.

Nice.

I went with a Tumult, after talking with Andrew at Adire (super helpful btw). Going with a downfiring enclosure in my trunk. Will hopefully get some pics/video uploaded within a week.

Nice.

After some back and forth with Andrew at Adire, I went with a Tumult. Hopefully I'll have some pics of the sub and install up in a week or so.

Install of the Tumult is done.

I wanted to get the enclosure to 31 Hz, but the dimensions of the 1" plexi, that I got for free, only allowed me somewhere between 32 and 33. Still pounds super low and clear on 1kw.

Very nice lookin setup. Mine is tunned to 33hz as well. Sounds very clean and is good enough for me.
