hey yall help me pick an amp

hey dudes i have an aiwa cdcx227 amd i want to get an amp and some subs to kik up the bass. I have sony 6x9's 3 ways and they produce excellent low-midbass but i want soemthing on a lower frequency. i dont need like two 15-s just a pair of twleves and an 800 watt amp or so. reply if u have any good brands or prices or whatever.....thanks alot

I would definately want something of better qjuality than just loud crappy bass. i only have the aiwa so its not like i am blowing any eardrums out or anything

SQ is sound quality and spl is just flat out bass. If you want some SQ stuff look on ebay and try to find some infinity reference subs or something along the lines of that.

save some oney so you can spend mroe than 300 bucks on a 2 subs and amp but would reccommend gets a jbl600.1 puts out about 7watts rms and maybe 2 kicker comp vrs which woulod total about400$

haha thats funny. i was the same way but now i've spent like 2000 on subs and amps and shit. If i were you i'd get something nice and put it on a credit card and avoid spending money upgrading later. For 300 bucks though you could get what i got, 2 mtx 4000 with a 250 watt amp. They sounded really nice as far as sq but spl wasnt much. IF you want a nice sounding car all around that is truly a good setup. Just because its mtx subs doesnt mean shit, believe it or not the lower line subs sound a lot better than the 8000's and they are hella cheap especially on ebay and stuff like that.

Oh yeah that was kinda funny the guy who said and spl is flat out bass.. true but just for the sake of the guy who asked the questiong "what does spl mean?" its means Sound Prussure Level - flat out bass would be FOB not spl. Haha.

lol that was funny....thanks thoough it helps knowing the term for future reference....yeah there were some mtxs at circuit city dont remember the model # but they were like 100....i dont need some thump out show car i just want more true bass. thanks keep posting replies anyone who reads....

yeah the mtx 4000 or 6000's are nice, they sell those at circuit city. I now have infinty kappa perfects 12.1's. On ebay you can get them for 150 each. I paid 333 for 2 after shipping. IF you want get those, and get an mtx 6500d. See i messed up and got the 81000d, which is twice the power and i blew the subs. I am waiting for infinity to send me new ones. But that setup would cost you about 270 for the amp and 330 for the subs, then you need an enclosure, and unless you can make one it will cost anywhere from 50-100 dollars for a decent one. Total around 700 dollars. I know its a lot but i guarentee if you got that setup you would not be dissappointed. Just make sure the enclosure is between 1-1.3 cubic feet per woofer. Oh and another thing you could do is just get 1 infinity perfect as i had that hooked up and just one of those hit as hard as the mtx's i had, and has just as good or better sq. That would only cost like 500 for that setup probably. You could also look for a different amp, and get a bigger box and port it. But you need an amp with a subsonic filter if you are going to port it. If you did that you would get almost as much spl as with 2 perfects, and sq would still be good. I know it gets hard and confusing but let me know if you have any ideas and i'll see if they sound alright (i'm not an expert but i have a lot of experience the last couple years)

alright well then you could do what i first did and go to circuit city or best buy and other places and see if they sell a combo amp/subs in a box, thats the least expensive way to get a decent system.

imy first system was around 400 bucks i got 2 10 oroin xtr 3'sand a 600 watt kenwood it was niice then if ur looking for nice sound and not all out spl check outget ur self s apir of rockfard puches there like 1oo bucks for the pair and get a mtx amp or a kenwood there not all that expensive

if i were you, id goto http://www.adireaudio.com and buy two shivas. They are 12" subs that sound really good, and get pretty loud also!!

Which HU is that eclipse? does it have an lcd screen? I want the clarion VRX925VD and my life would be happy. Thats the one with the touch scren 7 inch lcd screen with dvd and mp3. I wanted to upgrade to an alpine but that clarion is the best.
