SQL Setup - Dual 12" - 1000W ???

I'm thinking about two Diamond D6's. Unsure about 4ohm dvc or 2ohm dvc. I'd probably go with the 2ohms that way I can run the amp at 1ohm and not have to pay as much for a 1000w @ 2ohm+ amp. I am worried about heat though so I'm still undecided on the amp. I was looking into a ED nine.1 but have reconsidered. Looking to spend under $300 for the amp.

Do the D6's handle that kindof power safely?

What other subs are out there for the same price-range of $300-400 for two 12" subwoofers?

Also when you pump 1000w into dual 12"s. Do they essentially both get the 1KW RMS or is it split in half between the two?

Finally How would a Alpine Type-X Vs the D6 compare? The Type-X is more around the D9 price range.

the RMS wattage is split between the two subs when you do like your doing.. to get 1000RMS to each sub you would need a true 2000rms amp

Thats what I figured. So I guess i'll be running them around 500 to 600w rms each. Which is what their rated at. Although I hear they're underrated so dont know what to do that with that.

2 4ohm DVC subs wire to a final impedance of 1 ohm...2 2ohm DVC subs wire to 2 or .5...SO depending on sub choice or going to need either 1000W@1ohm or 1000W@2ohms...unless of course your running one amp per sub then ignore that... I would take the D9 over the Type-X though...but thats just personal preference

yeah 1kW at 1ohm or 1kW at 2ohm is what i'll be looking for. Depends on how price is and how many pennies I end up saving.

Ok I'm pretty much decided on the Diamond Audio D6.

Anyone know of a good amp for them? Looking for 1200W+ @ 1ohms or 2Ohms stable.

The 4ohm DVC's are cheaper right now than the 2ohm ones. So I'm leaning towards them.

sonicelectronixs has em for 150ish. Turns out to be around 180 after shipping with a Warranty

I could get em cheaper off ebay but no or crappy warranty

Well I ended up buying 2 Diamond Audio D6D4's off Sonicelectronix.

I'm thinking about the Hifonics BX1605D. Amp for them. Going nuts looking into all the 1200W RMS amps @ 1ohm out there. Any other suggestions? The Hifonics is funny. On other sites its rated as 1200w @ 1ohm. On sonic it's rated 1600w @ 1ohm

Still unknown if I'll get a box built locally. Build it myself. Or Buy a premade($39 + 35 shipping at Sonic at 1.21Cu)

Waiting till my Credit cards payed off before I order the amp.

Get a custom ported box... low tuned preferably... you'll be glad you did... unless you have an idiot build it.
