How does a SoloX 18 sound?

About as tight as dolphin pvssy. Seriously, what does it look like it'll sound like? They'll get loud, but then again anything will in 22 cubic feet with 300" of vent and 6500w. If you are doing a wall, you can get louder and keep a higher sustainable level using the same power on 4 15's that won't cost you as much.
a dolphins puzzy wouldnt really be that tight considering that they are the only other mammal that has sex for pleasure.

come to think of it.. havent they both won SQ competitons??? Meaning it really is all in how you build the box and tune them with these subs?
dont believe they've won any sq awards with a solo x playing

I was wondering about the SQ. I mean obviosly they will be loud, but to sacrafice any shred of SQ wouldnt be worth it to me. The other option I was considering was 4 15" L7s. I know both would be loud. what do you guys think would sound better the 2 18's I had mentioned or the 4 L7s with 4.5 Cubes, 120 sq." port, tuned to 33 hz and 1250W rms each.
solo x does NOT sound "good".

Wang, sure... SQ, not really //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

LOL. Just read the first few posts. You're wanting an sq system and are planning to do a wall of 2 18" solo xs with 6k+ watts?

If you look in the manual for the SoloX is one of there bragging rights that they have won both SPL and SQ. Bu I tend to take the advice of people who have heard them as opposed to the company that makes them. As for talking about my application. I like Rap mostly but listen to country and other stuff as well (from time to time) I like having a system that I can turn down the gains to my amp all the way and have it sound all right, then with the twist of a knob impress my firends.

This is what my SoloX curve looked like:

And this is the Quad L7 setup:

I think I am still going with the 4 L7's Looks cleaner, and I can get them cheap.

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
