I just got the Sub woofer i am producing Tested .

The sub woofer is Square will try to post some photo Up once i have more info

can anyone recommend me what type of Box i should use ?

Well, it's definitely a sealed only woofer in my opinion, and a fairly decent sized box. I'd probably use about 1.5-1.6cf sealed for that speaker.

i am considering lowing it to 2 ohm .

And enlarging the Voice coil The Voice coil now is 50mm

Considering 65mm Voice coil

I would rate it about 600 rms to be safe

I am also considering Kapton Voice coil . if so it may handle about 800rms easily

also enlarging the surface of the magnet

Looks to me like some of kickers patents are being violated on this sub you are producing testing, but i could be wrong

I wouldnt buy one ill tell ya that much

also that basket and the foam on the gasket looks cheap

A square Sub is not patent to kicker . but Kicker are famous for their Square sub design by stillwater if i am not wrong .

- I had not consider making it for sale yet - but so far the parts i got can be back order from factory .

many brand make square Sub now - but my focus maybe to produce a few for fun .

and focus on the Round one .

My focus had never been on the look .But rather the Sound .

I would try 2 cubes (56.6 liters) tuned to 35hz and about 1.5 cubes (42.5 liters) sealed.

Also the patent isn't with the square shape and that's not what he is saying. He is saying that Kicker patented the ribs on the surround and on the cone. I don't know anything about this though.

The ribs on the surround are patented and held by Stillwater Designs...

Not a good idea to try do produce that one...

Yeh - i was checking with the factory the patent is on the Sewing - around the Core .

That what i know . cos that the only diffrent from kicker and the other Subwoofer . that is square around .

like i said my focus is on the Sound .

The sub by caculation shoudl handle about 700-rms

So far we had tested it on 500 rms . running it for 2 hour .

smoke start to come out when we boost it to 800rms .

we tested it 900 rms . and it run for another 1 hour before it sound real bad and smell real bad

so i shoukd be rating this as a 500 rms sub . to be safe .

would love to hear more and thanks for the comment

WinISD is a horrible tool for that sort of thing.

Don't you have LEAP?
