    First off I would definately use 3/4" thick wood. The best wood to use is MDF (medium density fiberboard), its about 20 bucks a sheet. If the box is for more than one sub, you should make each sub its own chamber. I personally like sealed boxes better than ported, buts its all opinion. If...

    Ive got my two 12 W3D4's running off of a punch 500s, and the only thihgs I have heard around hear that hit harder either have a few more subs, or are w6's or w7's.....So I bet if you get a new amp to em, theyll pound....

    tweaking system...please help

    THink about it like this, the first crossover cuts the frequency at say 80, and it sends onely the signals below 80 to the second crossover and the only way it would do anything else to the signal is if you had it set below 80

    I would have to recommend that you look into a pari of JL Audio W6 12"s. Put em in a sealed box and feed em enough power, those babies will be **** near the hardest hitting cleanest sounding bass youve heard, i garauntee
