    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

The wave length of 20hz is longer than a car but the sub plays higher frequencies too. We are worried about frequencies around the crossover point. I measure from the cone, so a rear facing box would have a longer measurement. As stated before that measurement is just an initial setting. You...

    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

You first need to get the mid T/A set correctly. This helps to ensure you have strong mid bass coming from the mids. Once you have done that then play with the sub T/A to get the best sound around the crossover point of the mid and sub. Correcting T/A could be the difference between having...

    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

The picture layout also makes it seem like the singer will be in front of you but when you adjust T/A it will be in the middle of your dash. If you have level matched correctly. Another thing that I think would be helpful if you don't know. When you measure for T/A you can't necessarily use...

    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

No because T/A adjusts when sound from each driver reaches your head. Adjusting amplitude is just that, it doesn't effect when it reaches your head. It might sound like it is because it can move the center image. Without T/A the sound from each driver will reach your ear at different times and...

    Need SR6500 Replacement Tweeters

Call polk and ask how much a new pair will be. They should sell just the tweeters. Did you get it off eBay and can you still get a warrenty through the seller?

    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

Do you have more tweeters or just those two? FYI, I've heard of others putting tweeters in the same location and it caused them to fail. They were thinking condensation from the A/C caused the issue.

    Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

Do you use it? Yes Do you care for it? Absolute necessity Any things to be done before the T/A process? T/A should be the first thing What are you trying to achieve (goals) with T/A? Center the sound stage and reduce phase cancellation _________ What's your method(s)? T/A should be the...

i noticed something weird about my speaker placement

How are you helping? I prefer my tweeters by my mids because they do blend easier. With it closer comb filtering is less likely and it eliminates two distant point sources coming from different directions. I don't understand when people choose completely different locations for the mid and...

and it begins... my tweeter pillar pod project

I'm currently running the sr6500 and I think the tweeter needs to stay on axis. I've tried the sails, corner of dash/windshield all on axis and a short time in the a pillars off axis. The best location I've found is actually just under my dash right above the mid on axis. The stage height has...

Solutions to stop my sunroof from rattling

If you havent dropped your head liner you need to do so in order to know what your dealing with. Add deadener, maybe glue foam supports but you wont know unless you look. I had the same issue and deadened a few spots and the rest of the roof, no more rattling.

    Inverting multiple subs?

You will also be adding more volume to the box because the sub no longer in it.

    Better Upgrade

That's kind of a toss up. The deck will help with SQ giving more tuning options plus the capability to go active. The deadening will help too but if you want it to really make a difference go all the way. Follow the sticky showing you how to deaden and seal your doors.

What do I need to run active?

I jumped head first into being active. I purchased a 880 HU with Alpine 545 and 1005 amps. I couldn't be happier. I like the 880 for the Auto eq/ta and then I make personal preference adjustments. You will want a 4 channel amp or 2 2 channel amps for your front stage. 1 channel for each...
