I can make an engine purr, I can rebuild your break system or suspension. However, when it comes to car audio systems, other than installing them I'm dumber than a box of rocks. I have never understood what makes a bad, good , or great sounding system. Peak power, RMS power, Gain, these are all Chinese to me and I don't speak Chinese. I have a 1991 Chevy S10 pickup with a blown OEM head unit. I would like to build a system for it that sounds good with out having to go to the local audio shop and getting reamed and still get a crappy that they have had in storage for 10 years and couldn't sell. Oh and did I mention that I live on a budget. Can someone give me a little schooling? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm working on a budget set up for a family member myself, we'll have less then 800 in it. Simple set up. 5 channel amp. Single din hu. 3 way crossover time alignment etc. Mids and highs from the speaker components section at parts express. Single 10 ported box. wiring, sound damping etc. I did find a used never been used sub for a good price. I'm building the box. Anything you can do to save money like building a box would be beneficial.

I need to look up FW too. Not sure if he was calling me free willy or what? F with? Forward? Not really up to date on text slang.

Who knows maybe he does have  a screw loose?
