Well, was bored, looking at the ZX2500.1 to power my Mach 5 SPL-12s..

Looked on eBay, about $790...

called the local audio shop...

$3500

he says, oh I'll give you deal if you buy two 1500W amps, $1100 each.

a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif no?

Your local shop is price gouging like no tomorrow! Haha, MSRP is only $1699 as stated earlier..

Wow. I'm not sure how Kicker is, but a lot of companies have a certain price dealers can't go over... This is probably over that if Kicker does have one. I'm not sure if this applies to Car Audio brands, but I know it applies to most other things.

You should definitely print out pricing from a ton of reliable authorized sites, like woofersetc and such and hand it to them to prove a point.

Even WoofersETC has the ZX2500.1 (08 model) for $900, and they are usually quite a bit pricey for being an online dealer.

Hmm. I kinda know the shop owner so I dobut I'd report him or something but yes they gouge like mad.

People pay the price cause they don't know anything different. When theres lil competition (only one other shop) they can charge what they want

isnt woofersetc.com an authorized dealer as well?.. sonicelectronix is an authorized online kicker dealer and they have a $900 sale on the 2500 as well...

hmm.. good idea to print out some of these things and show it to the local seller to prove a point.. and maybe u get a price match?

heh.. i didnt notice that

but still... kind of reminds me of the time a local shop quoted me on a kole audio 800 watt 2 channel amp for $300.. i laughed at him and walked out... a few months later the store went under

man.... why do they do this?.. do they think everyone is retarded?

A ton of people in the car audio world are 'retarded' in the sense they don't know the actual worth of some product. They will pay what the dealer says because they figure they are a dealer and can't do anything wrong such as overcharging. Not everybody knows how to utilize the Internet for their own benefit when purchasing things either, so dealers take advantage of that.

And I didn't notice you were in Canada, prices may be a bit different cause I'm not sure how many authorized CA dealers are out there or on the net, so I'm not sure. Regardles though, $3500 is even higher then MSRP, actually it's more then double. I'm 99% sure that goes against Kicker's dealer contract or whatever it is. But if your cool with the guy I can see why you don't want to snitch him out, but what he's doing is a crime(robbing unknowing peoples money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

Isn't it wonderful being a stereo enthusiast in Canada? When I was looking for my Kickers I was quoted $1500 each as msrp but they'd cut me a deal to 1100 each. Bought off this forum and Candiancaraudio.com and haven't looked back since. Keep in mind if you do order from south of the border you will likely be hit by duties. On my SX600.2 UPS hit me with nearly $60 in duties and brokerage fees, on an amp I paid $200 shipped for. See if they'd ship by usps, tracking sucks balls but much lower fees if you get them at all.

Where in Alberta are you? I'm working up in Ft. Mac. on the oil sands

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif my Type X's were about 400, I know I could have gotten them cheaper through the states but I wanted the warranty Visions offered.
