Orion HCCA 250 (old school) question

Hello, all:

Can someone tell me the practical difference, if any, between the G4 and G5 Orion HCCA 250 amplifiers? I understand it means one is a 4th and the other a 5th generation unit. I understand there might be a slight difference in features. What I want to know is if the chassis in either one is substantially different (such as one has crummier transistors, power supply, diodes, etc.).

Thank you in advance for your help. (I am buying some of these amplifiers)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I would look for the G4 if I were you. Running the G5 @ 1 ohm tended to turn them into George Foreman grills, except with flames. If memory serves me correctly, the G5 series had a HIGH failure rate.

I have a HCCA 250 G4 and a HCCA 225 G5.

ETA Pics!

The G5 series looks like this:

So, the G4 does not have the failure issues? And the G4 is NOT made in Korea?
I am sure the G4 was built overseas. ETA: The G4 was more rock solid back in the day, but you have to keep in mind that a G4 is over 5 years old now and you may encounter some problems.

IIRC, the bigger G5 amps... HCCA 250 and HCCA 275 had about a 50% failure rate. Heck, even my HCCA 225 G5 was a refurb that a friend of mine never put back in his vehicle.
