Well I have been searching this site, and to tell you the truth I am quite amazed how everyone helps people on here unlike all of the other forums I have joined. In all honesty I have searched around and have got a pretty good idea of what speakers subwoofers and amps are accepted here. Well let me get to the point, I have a 2000 Lincoln LS and the stock sound system just doesnt cut it. Im looking for soundquality but also want some pretty good thump. Im looking into the Boston Pro 60 6.5 comps from my front two speakers powered by an amp I have from my old car which is unfortuantly a Dual 400-2 amp. Im so undecisive with the subs and amp that I want to power them. Im up for all suggestions. Mainly looking for two 12's but if three 10's are better than im all up for it. If this helps I drive a 00' Lincoln LS. The headunit im getting not sure but it will be a flat indash probably.

I get paid about 750 every other week and have a $300 car payment at the end of every month so I guess budget isnt to big of a problem but I dont want to overdo it ....hope that makes sense

Check into the Fi Q's! Very good price on them. 259 SHIPPED for their 12's! Hard to beat that and most all the reviews have been good. I would check into those. Or the Mag BM'S sounded tasty too. Those are the big internet companys. Check into those.

bigbangtheory, Thanks for the input man. Ya I have seen some of the reviews on them and it seems hard to turn away from that road. However if you would be so kind to recommend an amp for those it would be greatly appreciated.

here check out my thread, i have a 2001 lincoln ls i ust started doing the new install put i outline my plans for it, it might give you some good ideas.

also you got the premium sound pkg on it, the easiest way to tell is do you have a black "box" that is attached to the bottom of the rear deck lid in the trunk?

if so then you do, get rid of that box, it gives you more room and you dont need 6X9's and rear door speakers and front door speakers.

Ya i have the 10 disc changer in my back attatched to the roof of the trunk. What do you mean I dont need 6x9 front or rear speakers. Kind of confused the way you worded that. Im going for the pro 60s ?

my cd changer was mounted on the glove box, what i meant to say (sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

was that under the rear deck lid in the trunk there is a black box that spans the length of the rear deck and it houses an amp and a pair of 6X9's, you dont want to use them so the easiest thing to do is just unbolt it (6 screws only) and take it out since it will give you a good 3-4 more inches in that little "cubby hole" that is perfect for a sub box.

heres a pic of the black box im talking about, you can identify it by the little "air fins" from the white part on down is the box, you will save quite a bit of room height wise by removing it

if you are going for a sound quality set up you dont want to have speakers in the rear at all, just up front.
i can best describe the reasoning behind it like it was told to me (and true if you try it out) when was the last time you went to a concert and listened to the band with your back turned?

you want it to sound good, when yo have rear fill speakers you can run into getting a little time delay from the time the rear speakers hit your ears and the time the front ones hit your ears.

you ask what about the subs there in the rear, well in a well thought out and done install you really shouldnt be able to tell where the subs are it should sound like you are surrounded by the bass as oppsed to be coming from 1 direction, like at a concert

as I said im kind of new actually really new to this whole car audio thing. A quick question about that amp you poste jmanpc it is rated at 650w at 4 ohms will this mean if I have 2 12's they will be powered at 1300 watts at 2 ohms?

Head Unit- JVC KW-AVX706 double din ( buying a din dash and trimming it to fit double din)

Comps - Boston pro 60s

Comp-amp - Dual 400.2

Subs - 2 FI-Q12's

Sub Amp - BXi2006D 650.4

Box - 4.5 at 30

Tips - suggestions - disagreements ??
