Vangelis - Chariots of Fire OST

not to mention it's a pretty good movie. Need to buy a new one though, my copy has way too much surface noise and I don't have a cleaner //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anything from Led Zeppelin sounds amazing...Crisp guitars, amazing vocals, diverse bass lines and stellar drums.
As long as it is remixed. The first releases of their CDs suffered from gut-wrenching hiss. I read that it was due to the number of tracks they would record and all that tape noise piled on top of each other just ruined the discs. I still remember getting Zep IV as soon as it was released on CD, running home and putting it in my CD player. Slapped on my headphones, went straight to Stairway to Heaven and just about cried at the hiss. That song sounding that bad... Blasphemy!

All the Dire Straights albums, especially Brothers In Arms.Steely Dan: Pretzl Logic, Aja, Can't Buy A Thrill

You may be interested in this: A 24k MFSL master disc of "Aja" up for auction on ebay. I didn't realize till today that those things are limited run only. And to think of all the MFSL discs I didn't buy over the years figuring I could buy them later.

Now, for example, Supertramp's Breakfast in America is going for upwards of $50 for a used disc. Ugh.

While I am thinking of it, I am gonna run to MoFi's site and see if I can register to get news of new releases of theirs.

HDCD, SACD, DVD audio...

none of them ever caught on......

i just don't think much of the market can even tell the difference.

cd probably only caught on because it doesn't hiss or pop, or rip, or get jammed in the player

Every Zep recording I've ever heard sucked horribly. I can't even bring myself to put it in the car anymore. I only listen to it in the stock 4 runner system cause I can't tell the difference. If you know where to get some recordings of theirs that are good let me know.

I've heard some 180g MoFi re-pressings that were...disappointing to say the least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But I've been trying to track down a copy of their 200g version of REM's Murmur...I hear it's a good one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it would be cool in a car, but when you start the engine, run the a/c, drive downt he road, that extra quality you paid for gets covered by road noise, engine noise, etc... the market isnt big enough to make products just for SQ competitors on a large scale.
