Your favorite SQ disc?

Old standby:
Jennifer Warnes: Famous Blue Raincoat

Anything Mark Knopfler had anything to do was extremely well produced. The newer Rush recordings are in the same vein. The first two Dave Matthews Band albums were very well done as well.
X2 on the DMB. Not exactly my kinda music but it sounds amazing. Hearing "Crash" on the Klipsch RF-7's at the store sold me on the purchase.

The current IASCA SQ competition CD is pretty nice too. Certainly worth the price.

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble: Greatest Hits along with the previously stated Dire Straits.

Also, I think Cream - Royal Albert Hall - London May 2-3-5-6 2005 is well recorded as well.

Madonna - The Immaculate Collection

Rebecca Pidgeon - The Raven (Chesky)

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine

Alice In Chains - Live Unplugged

APC - aMOTION

Jimi Hendrix - In From The Storm

i use the entire gold remastered michael jackson thriller album, cant beat that recording.

- cisco kid

- tabacco road

- dont let no one get you down

- sippin into darkness (midbass like crazy)

- the cisco kid

IASCA setup disk

The USACi/Focal one is ok, I like some of the songs.

SRV-Little wing and River Paradise

Mission impossible theme

Star trek themes

terminator theme

The Police's greatest hits

Dire Straits greatest hits.

Black crows live

Anything from chetchke (I know I murdered the spelling)

Autosound disks

Dave Mathiews for dynamics (what would you say?

Blue man group live (excellent for getting a feel for the cars's placement of the sound stage)

I have so many more, too many to list.

I'm not sure if it's the current one, but mine has...

John Williams - Throne Room theme, Star Wars

John Williams - Superman II

Henry Mancini - theme from the Pink Panther

Carl Orff - Oh Fortuna

those are just some of the tracks off the top of my head...also has phase/channel checks, staging cues, the title song from "Sanford and Son" for noise testing, a zero bit track, Bass Mekanik's Toccata in B, etc, etc...

What all is on that CD? I can't find a song list.
Mine is at werk today and I'm at home but:

A intro track with some song I skip right over.

A few telarc recordings of famous orchestra music, some jazz, one pop song. (one from star wars, pink panter theme, theme from Sanford and Son, etc)

A techno/synth version of Toccta Fugue in D Minor (phantom of the opera). Some low synth notes for showing off the subs.

A couple of phase verification tracks, Channel verification track as well (L/R).

A few (3?) tone sweep tracks, increasing one Hz every second.

One track that has three people speaking: one at far left, one at far right, and one at dead center. First they speak individually, then later they all talk at the same time.

One track that has 7 snare drum strikes, panning from far left to far right in equal steps.

Another 3 tracks that are all the same song, recorded at different levels. You set the volume with a setup track. And then play each of the 3 recordings without moving the volume setting.

One track that slowly lowers the recording level. You are supposed to increase the volume setting of your system as the recorded level fades down as the track plays - maintaining the same volume in the car for as long as you can.

metal- pantera's walk

rock- pink floyd, steely dan, yes

hip hop- scarface- the untouchables album, tupac's hail mary

acoustic guitar- nuno bettencourt's midnight express

movies- the beginning of lord of war

i set and save all the eq's on my deck using these. works well for me.
