Yet another gain setting question

Well I am ready to hook my amp up and have a question or two on the gain setting.

My HU is a Sony CDX-M630 with 2 volt pre amp subwoofer outputs and subwoofer volume control.

The amp is a Power Acoustik A2400DB which will be presented with a 1 ohm load.

I have read on bcae1.com to match the voltage from the HU with the gain on your amp.

I have also read the gain setting tutorial.

I plan on doing it by using a DMM and according to the formula in the tutorial I should set the gain until the speaker terminals on the amp reads 41.56 volts AC on the DMM.

Is that right?

Also I know that all EQ's should be in the off position loudness off, bass off but what about the subwoofer volume control?

Just making sure I am going to do everything correctly.

Take the square root of the power (watts) x resistance (ohms). Since you did not list the power output, we don't know how you derived the 41.56v AC. But, what you have said so far is correct.

Well the amps max power is supposedly 2400w and the RMS power at 1 ohm is supposedly 1800w but the amplifier only has a fuse rating of 120amps.

Amp specs

900w RMS x 1 channel @ 4 ohms

1400w RMS x 1 channel @ 2 ohms

1800w RMS x 1 channel @ 1 ohm

2400w MAX x 1 chanel at 1 ohm.

1 ohm stable.

Fuse rating on amp is 120 amperes.
