Ok all, I’m sure you are sick of these “ help me pick the right amp” threads. Unfortunately I know almost nothing when it comes to car stereos. But here is what I got so far. I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X491 head unit. Pioneer Premier TS-A643P speakers for the doors. They are 6 ½ inch 4 ohm 50 watt rms 280 watt max. Rear speakers are 6 x 9 Alpine 4 ohm SPG-69C2 75 watt rms 300 watt max. I’m looking for a decent amp to run these. Nothing earth shattering. I’m not into competitions or anything like that. Already got subs for bass so I’m not worried about bass. Just want nice clean sound without having to worry about drawing to much power and having alternator problems ( 2000 Honda civic) I am running off the deck right now and fairly pleased with it but I’m sure a decent amp will improve it some. My first question is the power I need. Since the doors are 50 rms and the rears are 75 rms do I try to split the middle and look for something in the 60 range? Or do I find an amp with 75 rms to push the rears decent? Will that damage the 50 watt doors? After hours of searching I found one by Pioneer that looks decent and the reviews are good. It’s the GM-6400F 4-channel. 60 watts rms x 4 4 ohm 300 rms watt peak, 600 watt max peak. Any opinions? Is that enough for the rear speakers? Or any better suggestions? Are the smaller less known companies just as good? I’m sure most companies are good, I am more concerned about getting the right amount of power without going overboard for my setup. And of course all the companies “statistics” are going to have some variance of accuracy so what do you believe? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think a Old school Deltasonik D200 would be perfect //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif 60 shipped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif pm me if interested //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Right now I seem to be drawn to the MB Quart DSC 480 or ONX4.80. Seems about the right amount of power for my needs as long as they do actual rated power. Plus the price is nice. I was also considering the Crescendo 1000C4 as it seems lots of people like this amp. Might be over kill for me I don’t know. Or the Pioneer I listed above.
