Yellow or blue?

I'm adding a second alternator to my truck (not sure how yet but I already bought the second one) The new alternator will be dedicated to my system with a battery or 2 in the back. My question is.....Which battery would be better for this setup? The optima yellow or blue top? Does anybody have experiance with the blue tops or know what the differance is between the blue's and yellows?

u mean yellow or red correct??? red is the primary starter...yellow is for your system

Yep, exactly. I think there is a blue one, maybe for marine use.

I do believe they have a blue top...but I think it's just a normal cycle battery...

No I meant yellow or blue!!!! And there are normal cycle and deep cycle blue tops! Just curious what the differance was

optimabatteries.com says blue tops for marine/rv yellow tops for stereo use, and using a red top for stereo will void the warranty. But I still don't know what the diff is between yellow and blue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

i have a upgraded alt with my redtop and its working fine

get the yellow, it is optimized for car audio installs, the blue tops for the most part are marine batteries, they are strong but for additional battereies go with the yellow, where as the red top goes under the hood
