Yeah... so i think i just blew my Focal KP2's

It was inevitable. I've been trying to see what all I could get out of them. I was using a JL 350.4 to push my Focal KP2's and my factory JBL's in the back in my Sequoia. I'm running a JL 13W6 in the back on a Kicker 750.1.

I suppose I've always been a little dissapointed with the mid bass on the Focals and I may take this time to redo the mids and highs altogether, new amp too if I need one. I've been really impressed with the tweets and would like to keep them.

Money's not really an option. Suggestions?

Those K2P mids are pretty amazing, I'm surprised you were having issues with them....must have really abused them to blow them.

Midbass generally starts around 70hz and goes up to around 200-250...of course, this is all dependent on who you're talking to. I had mine crossed hard at 80hz, and could literally play the speakers to the point where my ears couldn't handle it anymore(200 watts per side available), and had no issues for 2 years.

Yeah, you probably trashed em by cranking the gain or not using an HPF.

So in the perfect system how much wattage should you be pushing to your mids? I kind of always thought that mine was a little low. I mean... I'm in Arkansas. I dont have alot of installers to choose from. I've used 3 and havent been impressed with any of them.

that really depends on your speakers and your setup.

Install you own stuff, 150 per mid is plenty, 200 is nutso, get some ID horns and 8" mids if it just isnt loud enough for you.
