I bought some speakers for the back of my car, 6x9's, they are Xplode xs-r6941. Would I need an amp for it? Iif you guys try searching it on the web you wont get much, I couldn't find anything on them, yeah they're from wal mart >_

4 way means they have four different little sound producers (drivers) in them. IMO anything more than 2-way in a single speaker is a waste of money and sounds like poo. but whatever. You dont need to amp them, but it would sound a lot better with more power going to them.

Get an amp that is two channels and has an RMS of 50 watts per side. that should be more than sufficient for you while not cause any harm to the speakers.

Those would be a lot better for you. Alpine makes some pretty good stuff... sony on the other hand (with the exception of HU and some amps and the old ES stuff) just blows.

Tweeters are what play the higher frequencies of music.. one will do just fine.
