Eagle was one of the destinations I took tour groups to while I worked for Holland America a few years ago. To get there by car you have to drive 100 miles of dirt. The town has about 75 full time residents, really none are attractive by any means, there's no paved roads, no stop lights (except one at a gas station that a tourist sent them so that they had one) and just a couple of stop signs. The Yukon River flows by the town and it's fricken cold. people don't swim in it (maybe tube it once in a while) and there sure is no bowling alley. They had a billiard hall but it shut down because the floor warped so bad and wasn't opened again.
